WIW 3/19: H&M floral pants all grown up

Last time my attempt at wearing the H&M floral pants was a bust, DH could not stop commenting on how ugly and clown-like they were, especially paired with the striped shirt--the floral pants and pattern mixing was too much for conservative him!

Well here is my attempt to make these floral pants respectable again! A more grown up version--I paired it with all my "luxe" designer accessories (shirt, bag, leather jacket, heels). I'm wearing this to work so I hope it's not too crazy! Will see what the others have to say! What do you think? I'm planning to wear pants all week (blah) so these are the most fun ones I have to start out the week with!

As a side note, I think I should have bought a size down--the 6 seemed tight in the store so I bought the 8. I didn't think they would stretch out but they have and now they're a bit loose. Hopefully I can throw them in the washer & dryer and shrink them back up.

LOVE this outfit and as I am fond of saying I don't usually like floral pants. Lovely pairing with black jacket, crisp white shirt and adorable heels. Very grown up and sophisticated. No bozo clown here!

p.s. I sneaked a peak at the stripes and florals combo. Uh... I loved it! I'd do that in a heart beat (minus the denim, because I don't do denim). Thought it was very Deborah Harry. But I'm kinda punkette.

Sweet!! I like it with the black jacket. How about black shoes? I think that would also take the volume down another notch.

How would you feel without the belt? I think it would be crisper, simpler and stronger without it.

So glad you are not giving up on the pants! I like it with the classic elements and this way the pants are really the highlight. Very intentional even to the "uneducated" eye.
A colorful solid shirt could do the same thing.

I see you are mixing in some subtle touches - the "almost a pattern" textured bag If you really want to bring more pattern to the pants, bag might be a way to do it.

Very sophisticated! This is a great outfit. I agree with Rita that I might like it even better without the belt, to make it more streamlined.

I want to vote with Rita also, my first thought was the belt went just one step too far...take off the last thing you put on, says coco! It would be a 10 without!

Wow...you pull this off very well (and I'm not a fan of floral pants)! I really like the look with the black jacket. If you are taking the jacket off for work, I'd forgo the blue belt. Have you tried tucking the shirt? Just curious how that would look if you wanted a defined waist...

I am excited to see the floral pants out to play again! I really like this look, I dont think i could pull of the striped T one but this look is doable (now I am going to *need* some floral pants.....) Very polished and fab!

I really like it with the white, more grown up blouse. I like Rita's idea of eliminating the belt. Why are you wearing pants all week... just wondering if you just decided it or if it was for some other reason?

I love it with the blouse--- I'd actually love to see the pants with the blouse and maybe another jacket and shoes, sans belt. I think these pants would be a pair that are super great to wear with a pair of black somewhat sleek boots-- ala Angie. Maybe a sleeker pair of heels?

OK I guess the belt is not popular! I think next time I wear this I will just wear the shirt by itself with sleeves folded and pants rolled to knee length and ballet flats, like Julie suggested when she posted a pic of Marilyn Monroe. It will be a fun casual look. I just have to do it when DH is not around! ;P

Jem, I'm just doing pants week for kicks. I did dress week two weeks ago and last week was skirt week. I wanted to wear some of the pants that I just got hemmed. I'm just not into pants as much anymore now that I've found dresses and skirts. Which is funny because I almost always wore pants pre-YLF (so that I could wear comfy shoes instead of pumps).

Lovely! I thought the outfit with the black jacket was nice, but then I saw it without and thought "Wow!" Something about the simplicity of the white blouse on top, nothing else, really made the outfit for me (and minus the belt would be even simpler). That is an awesome blouse BTW
