Una lemming #1 - YouLookFab Forum

I bought this dress after Una recommended it about a month ago, but it sat in my closet. I tried it on again today to decide if I was going to keep or return. It is lightweight and the fit is good...what was I waiting for? After trying on several pairs of shoes, I decided that I liked it best with lighter accessories. It is 100 F today and I only had a few errands to run, but I wore it anyways. I'm happy to report that it passed the summer comfort test!

Love where the high/low hem lands on you. Another case of 'looks better on you than the model'! This looks like a dress that can be changed up easily with different footwear and accessories. I quite like it pared down for 'errands on a hot day'.

Runcarla, yes, this dress is an interesting chameleon depending on the accessories. It looks cute with my black suede booties, so I'm looking forward to wearing that during our warm autumn season.

Beth Ann, one nice aspect that I discovered today is that the longer hem in the back sways when I walk. I just realized that I get such joy out of wardrobe pieces that swish, sway, or float. I need to look for that extra happiness factor, especially in my summer pieces when the heat makes it so difficult to feel stylish.

AviaMariah, yes so comfortable! I think it's opaque enough to go sans slip which made it all the more summer friendly. Did you experience any shrinkage or stretching in the wash? (I will hang dry mine of course.)

This looks so nice on you. I can't believe how much shorter it looks on the model, which is why I never would have considered it.

Delurked, I'm 5'4", so just on the upper end of petite. I try not to let the stock photos dissuade me about hem length. I usually look up the product measurements and guesstimate from there.

I think the dress is still on sale with extra percentage off....

Ha. I'm tall with a long torso, and I have been lamenting the lack of knee length dresses. So I'm looking at where it fits you in envy. Knee length and sleeves? Practically a unicorn.

Ah, you have my sympathies. I think that joining this wonderful forum has opened my eyes to the fact that all body shapes and sizes have shopping frustrations. I no longer assume that the grass is always greener on the other side.

This looks great on you! I bought a very similar hi-lo hem dress at Target earlier this summer and loved it so much, I bought two more in different colors. I wear them with leggings because even with the temps in the 100F range, I will not bare my legs and they are a skosh short for me. But they are so comfortable and have become this summer's go-to work horses. I think it's the waist-surrender that makes them so swingy and fun.

I'm going to lemming this too - it looks fantastic on you. How is the sizing? My local store has a S in stock but I'd have to order XS online, and I'm usually between the two.

Grey scale, the fit is a little loose. I normally wear a small/size 4. I'm a small chested IT, so no hips. Fortunately, my store had a s and xs. I chose the xs for less bagginess around the torso.
I just washed it for the first time (air dried) and I don't believe it shrank. I can grab about 2 inches of fabric on each side of my waist. (I buy size 27 jeans.) It is about an inch and a half above my knees. Right under the arm area it measures 19 and a half inches across. I hope that helps.
