The white jeans I kept - YouLookFab Forum

Here is the pair I decided to keep. I updated my decision, here, but I thought I'd post a new thread in case anyone who missed it is interested in seeing the outcome. You all were so helpful as I worked through the decision!

I tried on the Kut from the Kloth Catherine boyfriend jeans in a larger size. They were great right off the hanger, and probably would have been uncomfortably saggy after wearing for a while. I tried on the AG Stilts in the next size up, too, and that did the trick for me.

Here they are:
1-2: as I wore them today: with navy and white striated weave tee (made by me), navy lace hoody (made by me), metallic belt w/ scattered studs and crystals (Calvin Klein), metallic flats (AGL), mixed silver & brass toned charms necklace, twisted hoop earrings in dull silver tone.
3-4: how they fit
5-6: an outfit I tried on with them, that I'll save for another day! With floral silk blouse (made by me), nude tan braided belt (Nordstrom), neutral spectator heeled oxfords (Fidji)

AG, AGL, you've got it all goin' on here! I love the Stilts on you. Great fit in the legs. The lace hoody turned out stellar! I can't believe how much of your clothing you design and make yourself. Adding some get ready-to-wear is the perfect counterpoint and no one can else can duplicate your look (which is fab, by the way).

Ok, I know I'm supposed to be commenting on the jeans, but I was completely FLOORED by how beautiful that blue tee looks on you -- you have a great eye for color in addition to sewing skills!

As for the jeans themselves, that's an amazing fit! And no VPL (my bane), either. I hope you enjoy them for years to come.

Thank you all for the votes of confidence! At the end of the day, these jeans did not bag out too much, and they were comfy all day, so I'm happy. The fabric is really very nice.
Claire, I felt kind of goofy typing AG and AGL--good grief! LOL. Thanks for your compliment on the clothes I make. I do love to mix and match store-bought with my creations.

I found the whole thread series really helpful because I have been contemplating all those jeans too. Sorry I was too late to help you, but you made a great decision. I agree that blue is amazing on you. And I also really like the blush oxfords outfit.
If you don't mind, would you consider saying which sizes you tried? I tried the AG stilts in a 27 but they looked and felt too tight. Probably the next size up would have been right. I ran out of time though to do another mail order while I was in the US. I am wondering what size Catherine's to try, and it would be an overseas order, so I hope to get it right on the first go. Based on the size chart I would order a 2, but I noticed on their home website they show all the jeans fitting extremely tightly. On the other hand everyone seems to say these will stretch out significantly.

Great looks across the board, but # 5 is my favourite.

You look amazing in white jeans and can't go wrong with any of these. I'm in awe of your sewing skills and especially like the soft silky top in 5/6.

You look so good in these white jeans, Firecracker, and what a knock-out figure you have. The Kut Catherine jeans didn't work out for me, either, as there was too much fabric in the front for me. Must make a note to check out these AG jeans. Are they thick enough so there isn't a see-through problem?

Vicki, thanks so much! You are too kind. I really love the fabric of the AGs. Yes, it is substantial, and I don't detect any see-through. The fabric--both the feel and the color, which is slightly less bright, almost milky--is I think a large factor in why I persevered with them to find and try the next size up. I was afraid they'd be too big in the waist when I went up, but surprisingly they weren't.
