Since you all so kindly advised me that a puffer should not in fact be leaking tiny feathers all over my clothes (I feel silly now), I treated myself to a new one--not an exciting style, but such a pleasure to wear in bad and even not-so-bad weather.
Winter boots--again, such a pleasure! These fit my 13 inch calves and have room to be cinched in more with the buckle. The brand is Aigle. I think it is french. They are beautifully made--lined with wool and very substantial rubber soles with a good tread. And they don’t look half bad, do they? I expect these babies to hold up for a good long while. All in all it is a lot of black, but that's what I felt comfortable with for now.
