This is not a keep or return. This is a hem or don't hem. I'm keeping it and am REALLY TEMPTED to order the red as well. Has anyone seen the red in person? True red or tomato?

Gorgeous fabric. Fits great -- very slightly on the loose side. I did not order petite and that turns out to be a good thing because the waist is in the right place for me in the regular, despite my very slight short-waistedness.

It could use a press. It came crunched up in a plastic bag.

Light is poor today and the humidity is intense but I did my best to try a few styling options for summer into fall.

This is me in the red. I think this pic is a good representation - seemed like true red to me but I’m a poor judge of such things. It wasn’t orangey, anyway. It felt overwhelming on me so I sent it back. The blue is stunning on you!

Suz- that dress looks great and seems to be "you". Gorgeous. I don't know how that dress is designed to be, yet can picture it a bit shorter if you prefer. Love it with your new EF shoes. I'd like to see how it plays with a slightly bigger gap with the higher booties, though my perception could be off due to camera angle. It might lighten up the look a bit by adding that extra bit of skin. It is clearly a keeper.

I do love it so much. I think if you wanted to wear it with the trainers I’d think about hemming slightly, but with heals it looks so great!

I love so much the shoes in #4. Angie has/had similar ones doesn’t she?

LOVE it. I don't know what is "in" nowadays in terms of hem length. My eye says perhaps 1-2 inches shorter would be more traditionally flattering (especially with flat shoes), but I know it's midi length on purpose, so I could be way off. At any rate, it looks fab on you in that color and I'd bet the farm you would look great in the red option as well.

Oh, I adore the striped one, too, JAileen. So pretty. To me it looks more "summery" though. And in my climate a long-sleeved dress in mid-summer would get almost no wear. The red is cross-seasonal.

Thank you all -- you're confirming my thought that it might need to be a couple of inches shorter. Especially to wear with flats. Although the camera angle definitely foreshortens. There's quite a gap IRL between the booties and the skirt.

I have lots of other footwear options, both sandals and booties and boots. No shortage of possibilities. Also more scarves, toppers, etc. Though I like it best on its own. The only thing I lack is a winter coat with the length to wear over it. Which is a shame.

Christina, that's right! I think I commented on your thread. It does look like quite a true red. I fear I might feel similarly to you about it though -- it's a lot of red!! Did you try the blue? I'll bet it would work on you.

I actually like it at this length. You can always shorten it later.

Beautiful on you. Are those the fantastic blue Aquatalia's? Love them with this dress. I'd like to see it pinned shorter just for comparison....it's a lot of skirt.

OMG. I am so glad this is now sold out in my size, one look at you in it and I had to go and check. All that is left is the tan, which I would never wear. Phew LOVE LOVE this on you. Gorgeous.

I also don't really care for it with the Aquatalias... love it with the shoes, would probably love it with high boots, and would like to see it with booties. This length/gap between boot and dress just doesn't do it for me.

I knew this would look AMAZING on you and it does!!! You and Angie wear it so well. And that is seriously good styling, I would never think to wear it in any of those ways. But I wouldn’t shorten it, at least not right away.

I’m trying hard not to order it.

Omg do not, do not, do not hem this dress please!! It’s stunning. You wear it soooo well. I think shorter would diminish the elegance. Absolutely fabulous and stunning with the shoes. Enjoy it!!!

Suz, if I were going to re-order it, I would try the blue. I just had an unexpected but necessary expense that cut into my budget for the rest of the month though. I will be able to keep the rest of what I ordered from the sale if I like it, but I won’t be ordering any additional items. Aside from my continued need for tall boots, I’m pretty well set for fall anyway. Also just found the white bag of my dreams after giving up for the summer.

PS - I agree with those who think that you should keep the length. You can always change your mind later, but it adds a special drama to the dress IMO.

It's beautiful on you, Suz! I'm responding before I read the other comments, so I'm not biased, but I say no hem. It's a beautiful midi length and looks great with both flats and heels in your styling here.

The navy seems to drape closer to the body than the red, based on christinas. Im wondering if the fabric type is different?

It is supposedly the same fabric but I don’t know for sure if it is.

It looks great! I would be tempted to hem it, but it looks fantastic as is, so really you could go either way. If you get the red also, perhaps you could shorten one by 2" and leave the other full length, just to have it both ways.

I'm strongly in the "do not hem" category. The dress looks fabulous on you at this length. Any shorter would change the proportions that make it so elegant.
