Cut-out booties have been a fringe trend for about a year, but have become more popular in 2013. They’re booties with open portions on the shaft area of the foot which is what creates the “cut-out” effect. Sometimes the cut-out detailing extends down on to the vamp of the foot, but usually it’s concentrated around the ankle area.

Black footwear is always in style, but it’s particularly on trend and fashionable for Fall and Winter 2013. Black booties, shooties, tall boots, mid-calf boots, pumps, sneakers, flat forms, oxfords, peep-toes and slipper flats are being worn with all sorts of outfit combinations.

Great news for cat lovers. Cats are a fashionable inspiration more than ever at the moment. We’re used to seeing cat marking prints like tiger, cheetah and leopard patterned merchandise every season, on just about every wardrobe item and in every fabrication. But here I’m talking about a different kind of cat print. Not the marking, but a picture of the cat’s face or full body in some form or other. 

Burberry and Chanel have been quilting their iconic items for years, becoming quite synonymous with the design detail. Each year the designer houses bring out new quilted styles to continue and strengthen their signature style statement. Long live their quilted legacy.

By pajama-esque, I mean styles that have been inspired by traditional pajama silhouettes and prints. They are not meant to be worn as sleepwear, although they look very similar to pajama tops and bottoms. It’s the lack of structure, silky fabrication, piping detail, and overall silhouette that makes these items pajama-esque.
