New: shop online from YLF

April 8th, 2008

Inspired by the growth in online shopping, we thought we’d try to make it easier for YLF readers to find good deals at our favorite online stores. You can find the new feature on the right hand side of the site. The red block at the top contains links to popular shopping destinations. The column below that has links to online sales, specials and promotions.

You are now one click away from a fabulous deal. Happy shopping!

Thanks Angie – the links are great. One suggestion – have the links open in a new window so after browsing a shopping site it is easier to get back to YLF. :-)

Thanks Angie!

Maris, If you right click on the link a window option should appear. You can then choose “open in new browser” so you don’t lose your YLF browser.

In the spirit of full disclosure, do you receive endorsements from these online shopping websites which you link to?

Sure Heather. There are actually three types of links on YLF:

1. The links inside blog entries where Angie suggests one thing or another are not affiliate links. In other words, we get no benefit if you follow these and make purchases.

2. The links of the stores, sales and specials on the extreme right hand side of the site are affiliate links. If you follow an ad for the Macy’s sale, for example, then we get a small commission if you make a purchase.

3. Google pays to put their advertising links in the sidebar.

We have hopes that one day YLF will be more of a standalone business, but suffice it to say that for now it is a labor of love. :)
