Zoom on photos

Beautiful re- design - congratulations!
A wee comment on photos and zooming.
For my aging eyes I prefer all photos to be displayed "zoomed" - would be great if I could set this as a preference so that all photos appeared larger..or alternatively if, when I'm reading a specific post, and I zoom the first pic, that by default, all subsequent photos in that post zoom up as well when I advance image by image.

Just to be sure... Have you noticed that there is a zoom option on the pictures? I wasn't sure from your question whether you are looking for that option, or whether you know it is there and want a way to make that the default.

If the former, then the zoom button is on the top right.

If the latter, then that is not a small change, but it is definitely something we can consider for a future release.

I also like the idea of being able to set the pic default to be enlarged. When I DO enlarge a pic, it becomes so large that I need to scroll up & down to see it all. Can the enlarged size ever be set to fit within one screen? Maybe with an additional zoom to zero in on detail?

Thanks for your response - it's the latter. If I 'zoom' the first picture,then I'd like all subsequent pictures to be zoomed. I find it a bit tedious to advance to the next pic, click on zoom, then repeat the process.

Just chiming in to add another vote for the zoom to persist through the set. Frankly, I'm not looking at as many pictures because I don't want to zoom on each photo. (Sigh, lazy user!)

I read YLF mostly on a full-sized iPad. Since persisting the size isn't trivial, I wonder if the default small size could be a bit larger, i.e. close to what it was in the last version?

Overall the site is gorgeous!

Nadya, there is something strange going on here because if I look at your first example on the iPad or the browser on my Mac or PC, the pictures are about as large as we can make them.

Is it on the iPad that those pictures look small. Also, can you tell me which version of the iPad it is?

Well, I'm starting to doubt my own eyes. Here's a screen shot from my iPad. It's an iPad 3 running iOS 6.1.3. Maybe this is normal and I'm just having a memory lapse of how it used to look!

That is interesting because the photo starts out much larger on my iPad.

Could you go to the settings on your iPad and find out which version of iOS you have?

OK, this is why I couldn't believe my eyes. I get different displays on the same post. When I first pulled up this post I got the smaller picture.

When I scrolled down to a few responses and then back and clicked the pictures, the pictures were the larger version - screenshots below. I never clicked the enlarge button. An interesting puzzle!
