Zebra tee is here (K/R) ETA: with shorter sleeves

Several of you asked to see what the Edista zebra tee I posted about last week looked like when it arrived. Well, here it is (not styled, just tossed it on with my pants from today) but it's a tee, how much styling do you need after all?

The scoop neck is neither too high nor too low, and does not reveal any cleavage. I was a little surprised to see that there is actually some subtle crystal applique near the face of the zebra. It's not very obviously blingy or anything though. I think you can see it in the closeup pic if you look closely. The sleeves come with a small pre-sewn cuff. I'm not sure I like this length/fit of sleeve on me to be honest; what do you think? It's like the sleeve version of bermuda shorts that end right above the knee, and we all know how i have poison eye for that...

I'd say it runs true to size although it is not as drapey a fit on me as on the model, and although it's technically a petite, I think the length would be fine for someone a little taller than me (I am just under 5'4".) I am actually considering exchanging it for the size up though because I kind of want it to fit more oversized. It's not tight in any way in this size though. What do you think?

ETA: One other point for those who were considering this. The white parts are actually an off-white, sort of greyish cream maybe. I don't mind at all, but it it not optic white like it looks in the Nordstrom photo.

ETA: I added a couple of snaps with the sleeves pushed up to shorter and angled cap sleeve lengths. Better?

Cool! I can see this working really well for you. If you don't care for the sleeve length that is an easy alteration, no? And you can decide whether to angle them or not. You could try the size up for comparison - no harm in that!

That's true, Suz, I could always just roll the sleeves up more anyway. Although I wish it had the flutter sleeves of the other Edista tees (like the green one that Angie picked earlier in the year).

I know tees and I love this. (I tried to comment on the suit but it was too overwhelming.) Love the graphic print--it's zebra but very artistically done. I love it on you.

Good thing about the borders and crazy shipping and stuff, otherwise I'd totally get one.

I think you should try a size up if you want a looser fit. But I'm concerned that the sleeves might bug you...

Cute shirt. Diana! I actually like the length of the sleeves, but it seems like it would be an easy enough fix if you want to go shorter. I say try the next size up for comparison, if you think you want a looser fit.

OK, I added a couple of photos up top with the sleeves pushed up to a shorter length and an angled cap length. What do you think? I'd have to really shorten them (probably cut and maybe cuff/hem) since it's too much length to just scrunch or fold.

I am still undecided about whether I want a larger fit. Another benefit to a larger size might be that the sleeves might fit looser, so if I shorten them I might get a slight flutter effect which I like.

I do like this shirt with any sleeve length you showed here, but apparently you are not happy with it. Exchange it for a size up.You do not have to compromise on a t-shirt.

This will seem like nit-picking...but can you make them about 1 inch longer?

I know what you mean, Celia. Part of me thinks it's super silly to alter a tee shirt! (I would do it myself so I wouldn't have to pay, but still... it takes time and effort.) If I sized up I would still have to shorten the sleeves. I just don't like the original length.

ETA: Amy, which version do you want to see one inch longer? 1, 3, or 4? If I cut I can make them any length. I think the only one I'd like longer would be 4. Basically I think I don't like fitted sleeves that cover my entire bicep, it makes them look bulgey. Otherwise I'd want them to cover my elbows, and there is not enough in the original cuff to lengthen it that much.

I understand, but I feel that right now you are compromising in length of sleeve and fluidity, if the latest was solved by the size up you would only have to compromise in one thing.

I like the idea of it, but the bling I think is kind of weird! (duly confessing bling allergy).

Celia, I guess i wasn't clear. I'm not sure how much more fluidity I want. This fit right now would be better for looser fitting bottoms like BF jeans, whereas a more oversized fit would be better for skinnies. I am not sure which I'd prefer right now. The sleeves as is I've decided are a dealbreaker, so the question regarding sleeves is really whether or not it's worth it to me to alter them.

Can you slice the sleeves for a flutter effect? Amy will know. I do like it better with the shorter sleeve for you.

I guess I'm an outlier here - I love the tee on you Diana but actually prefer it with the original longer sleeve length. Somehow I feel the tee is more "balanced" with that sleeve length.

After seeing all the options I think I really also prefer the longer sleeve length. It just looks more modern to me this way. I do like the tee on you a lot.

I'm going to send this one back and reorder in a size up. I think I've decided I want a more fluid fit since I'll likely be wearing it with skinny bottoms.

Re: the arms. I will definitely shorten them. (Sorry to those who liked the original length, but I think I have a slight poison eye and they just make my shoulders look so round). I'm hoping the large will have wider sleeves too. (Although I think that if I actually cut off the excess on this size, the result would be looser because of the loss of excess bunchy fabric.)

Oh wow! Love this tee! - just the way it is - unless you want to go with a slouchier look. The sleeve length is much better at the original length - it lengthens your arms - the shorter lengths really make your shoulders look round and also shorten the visual line of your arms - both of the shorter sleeves are cutting off your arms right at the widest part of a women's arm - the longer length is at a more slender point, kwim?

ETA - ooops - I didn't read the other responses. I still stand by my opinion - but, you're the one that's going to be wearing it - so you need to go with what you're most comfy with!
