I’m getting my car detailed, which means I have time to kill at the local mall. I stopped in Zara and saw this set, which Angie rocks so brilliantly. I know I don’t do it as much justice as she does, but I’m surprised to find I actually quite like it on me. The two-piece jumpsuit vibe is appealing! It’s a bold print so it’s a lot. But both pieces are wearable separate too. The fabric is a bit sheer — I need some new nude underwear!

But I think this is coming home with me. Thoughts? Opinions?

I also tried the blue set pictured, and I think it looks better IRL than photos, but I think the b&w set is better on me. More ease.

Both look FAB on you! I do prefer the bold print more though. Is this the new magic outfit that looks good on everyone? I am tempted to try it but the pants do look long. The light blue set looks shorter in the pant hem. Is that the case IRL?

Hi AJ! Yes, the blue set is definitely shorter in length. Also more fitted. It JUST fits me in this size and it’s 100% cotton so that makes me nervous! Shrinkage. The black and white set has more room.

I'd like to see my shirt worn boxy too! Not tied at the waist. Isn't the fabric and fit BRILLIANT for a hot day!! I'm surprised you like those sleeves - which you can roll to shorten if that's more to your taste, btw.

(Laundered my set a few times already. Zero shrinkage. Needs a good press afterwards though).

The second set is STINKING CUTE! I like it as much on you. Cheeky! I can see it with flat dainty sandals since the pant lengths are shorter.

Angie, yes! I can roll the sleeves, but this length is not bad either with a button-front. I don’t know about wearing the top boxy and untied — it seems a little pajama-ish that way and a little too unstructured perhaps? But I’ll try it when I put it on next. Thanks!

I’m an outlier , as usual , and actually prefer the blue set in terms of style details . I don’t love the waistband on the black / white set and wonder how it would look with the top worn untied . Ideally - I’d pick the second set in the first fabric

Thanks for the feedback! I considered bringing home the blue and white set too, to try at home and give a little fit road test. The pants fit surprisingly well! I’m just worried they’ll shrink in the wash (and I’m trying not to rely on weight loss to make things work, even though I’m down 8-9 lbs from where I was a few months ago).

Funny thing happened today, Angie — I also found a dress! This came home with me from a local boutique. Casual, comfortable, flattering yet easy. Feels like a big tank top!

I also got a Ralph Lauren linen shirt in that fab green of the ill-fated COS dress. This was from Macy’s. The stock photo is weird — why they made it look like a highly fitted shirt, I don’t know. It’s pleasantly roomy for summer heat.

Thanks, Angie. The linen shirt is nice and looks like it comes in some great colors. I was keeping an eye out for green, so this jumped out at me. The quality seems nice! I don’t do a lot of linen, but this seems a good classic piece to pair with denim shorts or the like.

I like both sets! And I'm really intrigued by the blue one for myself but have not seen it yet on the Canadian site. Hmmm. Anyway -- I'd bring the blue one home and play around with it. I think I prefer the bold print of the first one on you, but I do like the sleeveless style of the second one and the blue may be more "punchy" in person -- if so, I can see it being fantastic.

You did a lot of great shopping today! The dress and top also look really good.

These are my old Pikolinos sandals from a few years back. They’re a sort of in-between metallic — not terribly silver nor gold. I haven’t worn them in the last couple of years so I thought I’d give them a whirl with this dress.
