Zara quality: Any thoughts?

I'm looking at some cashmere on sale at Zara... generally speaking, what is their quality like? Thanks!

I haven't ever bought any of their cashmere, but I have a lace shirt from there. It stretched out a little as I wore it, which was kind of disappointing, but all in all, I'd say their quality is probably on par with The Limited or Express.

Totally inconsistent. Some stuff stays looking incredible for years - and then there's the rest.

I don't know about their cashmere, unfortunately. My guess would be it's a hit or miss.

That being said, I am a HUGE Zara fan. One of my favourite stores in the world for sure. I vote go for it.

I only have wovens from Zara, but of what I have I'm a HUGE fan. I love that store!

I agree that it's inconsistent. I always thought it was lower quality based on what I'd seen at the swap meet, but once I actually ventured into a Zara store, I was impressed. I haven't experience with their cashmere, but I thrifted a wool-blend turtleneck from them, and it still looks brand new, doesn't wrinkle on my bod, and has generally taken my guff with style. I'd probably risk it if you love the item.

I'm not sure about the quality of the cashmere, but since my experience with the rest of their stuff (like the others above me) has been inconsistent, I'd be reluctant to spent a lot on the sweater. Unless the color/cut/style is something you adore and can't find elsewhere, I'd hold out to find it in a brand (i.e. Loro Piana) that is higher quality. I view my cashmere as investment pieces, so I'll spent a couple hundred on one, as long as it lasts me for years.

I was there today and it's hit or miss. Some items run really small and others run big. It gets me confused but I do love their styles.
