Zara purchase - dress #1

I bought quite a few things from Zara (inc. the XL top which I'm returning). Here's a dress the hubby wasn't too sure about and I was okay with it but I wanted his input first. He said it was a bit too "hippy trippy: for my look (okay, boho) and the colors on the bottoms half were too big. I guess he is right. What do you guys think? I'm trying to step outside of my box.

If I keep this dress, I was thinking of wearing it to Miami when I go on vacation from Jan 20 -27.

I like this personally but I can see where my hubby would have the same reaction as he prefers simple and classic items. I can totally see it in Miami-its a large pattern but I think it works for you!

adore...you can wear it poolside with flip-flops, sunnies and a hat. bling it out with strappy sandals and shiny objects for a night out.

if you get a chance, eat at the tudor house or at michys. quite a splurge, but nummy.

I love, love, love it! But it is definitely my style and I can get them some people wouldn't like it. But I think it looks fab on you so I definitely vote you keep it!

You look great in bold prints and I love the cut of the dress on you. It does look very Miami to me--I think if you love it, you should keep it.

You look GREAT in this! I do think if this is a bit outside your box, that your husband has just not adjusted his vision yet! The neckline is so flattering, I love the "boho look" and think your dark cropped hair is an interesting slant on the normal long, flowing "hippie 70's" vibe that typically we see with this. The print is dramatic so it all works! You coudl definitely make it do double-duty with sandals and a large bag but I think it could go out to dinner with a fabulous statement necklance and heels! Go, go, go!

I like it on you, but it is certainly very different than the mod vibe I usually see you sporting. Only you can know if this is different-good or different-and-will-become-an-orphan :).

I think the dress fits well and is very flattering. If you like the pattern I would keep the dress.

I really like it and think it's flattering. I think if you had a bold statement necklace it would balance out the darker pattern on the bottom. I think you look great!

I don't know enough about your style to say whether it seems like you or not, but I think the print is fantastic and you look amazing. Those colours are so striking with your complexion and dark hair. Imagine you in this dress with a pair of dark sunglasses and short black (leather!) gloves - totally chic and kind of 'classy rock star.' This dress has far more potential beyond being just a vacation piece.

I like the dress on you but I think it boils down to how you feel about the pattern. I get the impression you're not feeling fab in it.

I really like the print and colors and fit. I think it's great for vacation with espadrilles or wedge sandals and a huge hat. Have you tried it with your capri lace edge leggings for a more casual look (with a cami maybe?) It does however limit itself from work IMO.

Hubby saves me from overspending on items that I have questions on. I do like the dress but then how many times will I get to wear it? Once or twice in Miami and then I'll have to wait until the summer time. I'll have to try it on again and get a feel for it.
