Haha! Lisa, funny thing is I saw these pants in Zara before I saw them anywhere online! They caught my eye because they are that rare pant these days that has no pleats or fussy stuff on the front — all the poufiness is way down the leg! I think it’s somewhat flattering for someone like me who has wide hips and long legs.
I threw them on very quickly just now, after Pilates. I just grabbed the first two pairs of boots I thought to pair them with, and simple solid neutral fitted tops. I like the white tee with a jacket over it.
As you can see, they are quite balloony at the lower leg! The drawstrings are kind of stretchy and stiff, so they have to be double-tied to stay tied. The fabric is a polyester/polyamide blend — it’s quite light and would probably be comfortable for summer. For winter, I’d wear them with tights or some other layer underneath. They are NOT the old nylon type of fabrication that makes a lot of noise when you walk! That would have been a hard pass for me. LOL
Carol, I’ll add the measurements of the pants in just a moment. Probably easier to assess from the pants measurement than mine. Or maybe I’m just afraid to look at my hip measurement, LOL.
So, I welcome feedback on these even though hubs is strongly in favor of keeping. Any styling ideas? They seem to work best with fitted high shaft booties, and at least a somewhat fitted top, but I tried on a slouchy sweater with them too and it wasn’t bad. How about color? I know olive looks great with black or white, and I like it with red or bright blue. How about other greens like teal? Is olive and grey too weird?
