In the spirit of a few recent postings, I too want some new tops for summer. My current collection is heavily skewed toward black (some with prints), simple tees, and older items I’m tired of. I want to try wearing relaxed button down shirts with cuffs rolled, and have bought a couple. I also want some new colors, and although I dislike most of the ruffles, gathers, exuberant sleeves, and other floofy details that are trending, I do like eyelet and lace, and love embroidery but haven’t found the right version of that yet. Also looking for more longer sleeves than sleeveless/short although I do wear both. I don't like the guaranteed permanent wrinkles of 100% woven linen (I know, I'm a real outlier here on YLF), but happy with cotton and/or some linen blends.

Last week I ordered an olive green eyelet button-down shirt from Zara. In yesterday’s fab finds Angie showed that same shirt in yellow! (great minds think alike ) The order arrived yesterday. The olive green is a lovely color, a little brighter than some olives and neither yellow or grey in tone, just perfect for my color preferences! The Medium is a teensy big snug across the bust and back (a common fit issue for me) , but will be ok. The next larger size was sold out. 100% cotton. Keeping it, and already ordered the light yellow one!

I also ordered a different eyelet shirt that I’ll show here. It was way too big in a M, and I don’t like the color on me so it’s going back. and I'm not going to try other sizes. Reads “bed jacket” to me, at least the way it fits on me. LOL. Could work for someone else.

Also a few weeks ago I found this fab little jacket at my local Zara store. I’m SO glad my local store has finally re-opened their fitting rooms after having them shut down for literally 5 years. (Covid, then who knows why, then a major store reno.) The jacket is 75% viscose, 25% polyamide that feels like a cross between linen and rayon. Lighter weight than a denim jacket. It does wrinkle a bit. It’s quite oversized - I’m 5’1” and wearing an XS. I normally wear a petite 10/12 or M/L in jackets with a more traditional cut. It has a very clever inside drawstring just above the waist, and GOLD snaps (yay!). I got both colors - "marsala" which is a dusty peach, an "sand" which is a warm-ish khaki/beige. :

One minor note – the drawstrings do not have any of those grabber/cinch devices on the ends, so it’s really hard to get the drawstrings to the right length and have them stay there...so I bought some of the grabber things from amazon.

These photos are NOT styled, just with jeans and sneakers I was already wearing. The sneakers were also mentioned in Angie's post yesterday. Sorry about the shaft of light from the skylight!

1. Olive shirt in size M. I might shorten it just a little.

2. The “Light khaki” shirt in M that is going back

3. The “marsala” jacket closed like a shirt. Obviously it can also be worn as a jacket over a top as in the stock photos. Also, the 3/4 tab sleeves can be unfolded, although they are just a little too long on me.
