They look tighter on K and Rae, which I think makes the difference. They need to skim your leg. They look baggier and slouched here, which would look better with a longer leg I think.

I'm with Ceit on this. They need to fit a bit slimmer. Not tight like skinnies (ideally) but skimming the leg.

Great discussion and learning opportunity here. . .thanks, Una

My (untrained, crop loving) eye says these are too big on you. That's made more obvious because they're a bright color. If you want to stay slouchy, they should be longer, and hopefully would be scrunchable.

If you size down, they'd probably be a bit shorter, trimmer, and have the more professional vibe for your work formal needs.
I agree with the recommendation for a pump or low vamp flat. No straps showing to visually confuse the hem line.

Any reason you went for red instead of traditional work formal color like black or navy?

Okay, thanks for all the feedback! The pix are really helpful, especially the fit on Rae whom I have seen in person. I've reordered in a size down (not petite) and a regular length (as opposed to short) - that may do the trick.

MNsara, I have lots of black pants. I ordered red and navy of these but felt the red was easier to photograph. I figure if these work I can collect a few over time!

I like how they look on K and Rae, so I'll change my mind and say this length is OK but they need to be slimmer.

Diana, I think they are slimmer and longer on Rae, so I'm reordering a size down and length up. Same wavelength!
