Your topper MVPs? - YouLookFab Forum

I've just recently discovered how important a topper is to refining my style. So far, my favorites are: 1) a nip-waist cropped black INC lightweight jacket that's good for spring and cool summer; 2) a black nip-waist cropped ponte jacket; 3) a black nip-waist blazer-style ponte jacket; 4) a denim jacket; 5) a utility jacket; 6) a black knit moto vest.

I'm curious to know what toppers are your MVPs, and would especially love to hear from those with a more urban, edgy, arty style (similar to my own aspirational style). I'd also love to get ideas for non-black toppers that are at least somewhat urban and edgy.

ETA: I know this is asking a lot and you certainly don't have to do this, but any photos or links you have to your MVPs (or similar style) would help me greatly since I'm a visual person. Again, not necessary and only if you're so inclined. Thank you!

(I added photos below of my first 3 faves. The INC jacket is similar in style to the one I have but not the exact one. Mine is made of a more lightweight fabric -- and I cut the ruffle off of it.)

My MVP is a black leather moto jacket with gold hardware. I don't wear it much in the summer, though, and I haven't found a summer MVP. I looked all spring to no avail.

I have two swing jackets in different styles and two Kenneth Cole boyfriend blazers that are my favorites. I wear these toppers more than any others.

I love a good challenge, and my aspirational style fits your criteria. Here are some finds to get you started, all of which I have (except the Tahari leather). For cooler months, I have a AllSaints black moto (not pictured, as not available). I reach for the 3 toppers below all-the-time. The cognac moto (#3) is perfect for spring/fall and I have worn it under a trench and under a thin winter coat as an extra layer of warmth and colour. The colour is close to my hair colour, so that alone makes it "go" with nearly everything.

The Ikat Kenneth Cole jacket was the bargain of my summer '13 at $17. It has dolman sleeves, and fits really comfortably. The blue and white pattern plays well with blue and white jeans and it actually allows me to pattern mix with every single patterned top I have, in the best of ways!

The white jean jacket started my love affair with white garments. I have to check myself, or I would use it every day.

These toppers suit my classic/sporty sensibilities and work well for my lifestyle which is mostly dress casual or casual. The last two work well as an outer layer in warm weather, and pinch hit as a cardy when the A/C is too high.

As of lately a gray knit lined blazer picked up at a second hand store. I liked the fit and fabrication and came home to google the brand. OBR int he tag didn't click but I found out it is Outback Red from the Limited. Seems to go dressy or casual and with a lot in my closet. A happy $24 buy.
