Your thoughts on these shoes?

I ordered these Gee Wawa flats from Anthro because I'm considering some footwear with white, preferably mixed with black in a graphic pattern because I'm not really crazy about the idea of all-white footwear on me. (I've also considered the Okalas) My first inclination would be booties, but these flats are cute and I wanted to keep an open mind.

They were not comfortable when i first put them on, but they are more comfortable as I've worn them aroind the house -- i guess the stiffness loosens with wear. I like the print and the unique vamp shape, but it's definitely different than what I'm used to. What do you think? This would be for fall and spring wear with jeans, not really skirts.

I'm not sure. Maybe I should hold out for booties, which would carry me through winter too. I'm thinking of bookending possibilities with my new white leather jacket.

I fear getting in a boot rut but they really are practical for three out of four seasons here. Flats like this I just don't see wearing in winter.

I welcome your thoughts! Or links to fab b&w boot alternatives.

How cold do your feet get? I love the shoes and think they'd easily bookend with white. However, booties might keep your feet warmer in the cooler months. Just sayin' 'cuz my feet are always cold.

Hm, they are cute, but if you can't wear them much in winter, they aren't going to help bookend the white leather jacket much. Also, there's so much black in the print, that I think they'll read more like gray from afar.

I like them! But... maybe not practical for the reasons you list. But! Sometimes practicality needs to go out the window.

Hmmm. I am not sure these will carry you into winter. Also, is there a gap between the top of your foo and the shoe? Might just be the style, but wondering if that is comfy.

If you want these to bookend a white leather jacket, what season(s) are the jacket?

The jacket will work for me for fall through spring, so yeah, ideally the shoes should as well.

The Doc Sara's would fit that bill, but I'm feeling done with that clunkier style. In fact, I'm getting ready to eBay those.

I like these shoes but probably need to continue the search for something that can be worn with socks, through the winter. An Oxford could be nice.

I like them, they'd be good for Spring and Fall at the very least. But let's say your heart is really leaning towards a boot. Wouldn't a boot with white be difficult to wear in the slush in Winter, especially a calf hair one?

Ooh, I think they are cool and I really like the different vamp shape, but I understand your concerns about weather. Tough one, I guess... are you willing to have more than one pair of b/w shoes? If the answer is yes, I'd keep and also look for some booties. But if you're not sure how much wear you'd get out of them, I agree the booties are more practical.

The pattern is fun, but they're not passing my eyeball test for foot-flattery. That's highly personal, of course. But I find it just doesn't have Pleasing Proportions.

Claire, a boot with white is not a deal breaker in winter weather here, but in leather. The Doc Sara's were fine in winter. I wouldn't wear the pony in bad weather.

These are so cool, but I'm not sure what you'd do with them. I mean, I'd do the hipster sashay in them with my 1940s house dress, but you're not frumpy like that...

I want to love them, because I love cat print, and pointy flats, and unique pieces, BUT all I can see are those sultan slippers that cartoon genies wear. I can't get past it.

More to your point, I don't see these as a cold weather shoe. If you wear a wider leg pant, the detailing on the shoe is largely lost. You can't pair them with socks, I'd guess, so you'd probably have cold ankles and feet. I dunno, these just don't seem quite right to me.

FF, thanks for suggestions! And thanks everybody for the feedback. I like these but I don't want to get two pairs of B&W shoes, so booties would probably be the wiser choice.

FF, the first ones you posted are my favorite but the B&W pattern would mostly be hidden by pants. The second ones are too high heeled for me.

Can you make a bad shoe decision? Well, that's why you're not decided yet here. I do love the pattern. The vamp is off eat and I think you could probably style this with your fab wardrobe. The colors are great for you. I'd still like to see a pic of this styled with a full outfit visible.

I remember you writing a while back that flats weren't doing it for you. That would be a concern.

The vamp is offbeat. Anyway looks like you've moved on!

Yeah, these are in the car waiting to be returned. I like them but they're not as season-spanning as I would like. I don't mind flats at all, but I do have a preference for something with a moderate heel -- 2" really is a great height for me. I will be on the hunt for booties!
