Hi Fabbers,

I so should be working but as you can see I am not that busy

I have mentioned that I am keen to update and minimise my jacket /cardigan collection.

I have two for your consideration.

Both by Metalicus. Both are in fact "cardigans" but they have a relaxed jacket integrity that would make them suitable for work and play.

#1 The Jade Long Sleeve Cardigan. I have been watching this one for while as I am very attracted to the colour (would work great with black or white) and the rough looking finish (I think it's a rolled hem) This also is available in black (see #4)

#2 The Lax Cropped Cardigan. I believe Lyn D has this one in navy. I like it a lot. Good arm coverage, nice length but I feel it's just a little off for my style. Comes in a pewter also (#3) I do prefer either a long sleeve or no sleeve and fear despite liking it, it may make me feel a tad frumpy. (Lyn D no frumpiness in sight when you wear yours, it's more about my shape)

Would really appreciate your input if you have a moment. #4 is a bit of a no brainer for me and I am tempted, but I would like to know if you think the colour in #1 would work for me.

I like the color in #1, maybe a nice wild card for you to play with. The style is nice and if you like the rougher vibe then it may be a good choice.
Honestly the sleeve length in ##2/3 gives me pause. I would prefer them to be either shorter or longer - this looks like an awkward length to me...but then I am not into cardigans at all so what do I know!

I prefer the one with sleeves--- I think if the color is true to the photo that it would be a great color on you and has enough contrast from black to keep it looking purposeful.

4 is my favorite of the bunch. Yeah, predictable. The first one is a great color but looks a little acid-washy, or is it just crinkly? I'm not sure on the sleeve length of the second - I actually like that length since I scrunch sleeves always, but it could be all wrong depending on fit.

Thanks for the input. I am really leaning toward #1 in black. Una, you nailed my concern re the coloured one. It is a tad crinkly but in the colour it's not as 'sharp' looking as the black.

Looking again, I think it's the edge stitching giving it a more casual, less sharp look too - like it's been used and faded but not deliberately. Glad I'm not out of my head!

Deborah, I think the jacket in 1 and 4, with the rolled hem edges and the rumpled look, does not have your usual polish. It's cute, and you would wear it well, but I would get it only if you are looking for a little more casual vibe. The blue seems a little washed out to me, also, so of these choices, I lean toward the black.
I think the short-sleeved cardi would be great for summer, and I like the lines of it (the yoke seam and the drape front really appeal to me). But if you are not keen on that length of sleeve for yourself, then I would pass. I have a dress with a sleeve that length, and I really don't like the look or feel of it on my arms, fwiw.

I have an unreasonable dislike of short sleeved cardigans. They look right on some people, but I always run a mile when they beckon to me in a store. I like the colour of #1 but I don't recall ever seeing you in colour (besides denim shorts), so I'm not sure. Four looks nice too.

Oooh, you know I am going to tell you to try the blue, right? But take it for what it is worth -- I feel about blue as you do about black! Blue is my colour/ neutral/ everything!

I do worry about s short sleeve style. I have trouble with that length, too. For some reason it is a difficult place for a sleeve to end on many of us. I do like the pewter, though.

Pretty shape Deborah. I always favor black because it makes things dressier. I have a bogie about sleeve length in number 2, I like bracelet sleeves or long but it it has sleeves I prefer them to cover my elbows, to me it's a more flattering length. Agree with you and Una, like photo #4 best!

Are these for warm weather Deb? I'm wondering because that might make a difference in what sleeve length you're wanting. I do prefer the long sleeve but that's partly because I love to scrunch. If you're looking for something to wear in the heat though, the shorter sleeve might be an option.

I'm gonna be a total spanner though and say I'm not sure about any of them to be honest.....*slinks away*..... It may just be the stock photos, but I'm wondering about the weight of them which will affect the drape. They look kind of flimsy in the pics - will the soft lapels stay open or flap open and closed? And the length gives me a bit of pause - although the model is obviously much taller than you or I - lol! It's kind of a neither here nor there sort of length - it isn't cropped but it isn't the longer hip length that seems to be current in cardigans.

I don't know....could just be projecting my own issues here...take it for what it's worth and I know you'd look fab no matter what

I looove #1, I think the colour would be great for you, IF you like the style/colour and would actually wear it.

I agree with Una on this one - I like #4 the most, though I'd love to see you get a blue jacket to wear with black.

I favor #4. Both for the crispness, color, and the way it will integrate with your style. I feel like #4 is a sure thing for you whereas #1 would be a wild card. All depends on your budget and if it is a worthwhile risk

I like the colour of #1, but worry about its lack of polish for your style. #2 looks more polished.

Would like the colour in #1 and the sheen and slightly heavier material in #3. I'm not a big fan of the crinkles.

#4 *is* a no brainer. I'm sure it would look great in the blue.

I confess to not seeing you in #2/3, with the half sleeve. It doesn't seem modern enough, even with the pointy hem.

The color of #1 is pretty, but it and #4 just look too wrinkled... I couldn't wear that style it would bother me. The other two are pretty as well but don't seem seasonally appropriate.

Yes you can easily wear the purple. And no to the short sleeved sweaters for you.
