I discovered that Rudsak (I believe they are Canadian) has a huge sale on footwear. I checked out their website and two models passed my criteria:

- thick rigid forefoot sole/platform (easier on my arthritic toes)
- low wedge. Total of 1.5 inches with a 0.5 inch platform.
- adequate arch support
- edgy/tough
- modern

So below are photos of the shoes on me and links to the actual page on the Rudsak site. And my thoughts:

I really wanted this in black because I wanted more modern and dressed up shoe than my ultra casual Naots. I tried the yellow one because the black one was unavailable. I loved it. It looked so good with my cobalt top and VC midi (maaaybe this shoe was the missing formula!). My only issue was my right foot (as always): it's too small for the shoe so it flopped around the shoe a lot. Has anyone had issues like this in the past? I have low volume feet so that might partially be why. I'm thinking that IF i decide to purchase it, I'm going to need to use a lot of stick-on cushions on the right foot so it doesn't flop around (flopping around causes my right foot pain).

When I slipped my feet in this shoe, I smiled. Though the footbed is the same as the yellow one, for some reason, this is more comfortable. Minor flop page on the right foot... HOWEVER... I looked in the mirror and thought it was just too edgy/tough for my tastes... Though.... My mind changes about them every few seconds. Sometimes I like them and other times I feel it looks "too heavy". But the comfort... OH THE COMFORT! Aaand... I can slip on my insoles in them.

The verdict so far: I'm duplicating. I'm ordering the black version of the yellow shoe online and I'm likely getting the yellow shoe in the store. I'll have to remedy the foot-flop issue somehow though. I'm waiting a weekend before I decide on something solid.

I'm a sucker for yellow accessories and shoes...

The other black shoe: I need to sort out how I feel about it. These are good prices for well-made pairs of shoes. I'm going to see if I still think the shoes are too heavy. I have a pair of higher heeled Fluevog Sandal booties but they're not quite as heavy-looking as this. I need to sort out how I feel first.

Any thoughts?
