In my never-ending quest to find comfortable & stylish shoes for Spring, I came across these gold metallic Geox loafers. To me they actually kind of look like a hybrid of a loafer and a slip-on sneaker. They're very casual of course, and I'm wondering if they would work for my style. I can't seem to make up my mind, so I'm asking you guys. Do you think these are nice or not so much.-)

They also come in other colours, I quite like the red and orange too.

ETA, I just noticed that the stitching on the gold loafers is black, which I find a bit jarring (the other colours have same-colour stitching).

I've seen several shoes recently with that white walled sneaker look, so it's very current. These are one of my favorites, actually - I like the feature on these more than on a Birkenstock. The gold is a little less in your face than the bright colors, although I must admit I love the orange.

My only questions would be: will they be hard to take care of with the white, and will you be able to wear them for long enough with the trendy look (or maybe that doesn't matter to you).

I agree with the black stitching. I do like the orange and think it would work in your wardrobe. Have you worn their shoes before?

I'm not going to be very helpful here, but one more vote for orange. Take that with a grain of salt, 'cause I just love orange.

I have a preference for this kind of shoe on a longer narrow foot - can't remember your size, Inge!

This sort of shoe looks terrible on my short wide feet, like a ballet slipper's awkward brother.

Hmmm. It might come down to how they look on. I can see the black stitching being a bit jarring, as well. But Geox do tend to make comfortable shoes, and they are also weatherproof, so it's definitely worth a try. I think they read quite casual with the white portion of the sole.

In Canada they also have one called the Donna Euro that looks like it could be good, but not in metallic from what I can tell. (I'm sorry - it won't let me link or show a photo from the site but here's an Amazon link.)

Missing your wiw's Inge! Hope will see these geox shoes in one of them asap, they are fab! Love the thicker combi sole, and find this particular metalic subtle and versatile.

Oh ETA: I find the black stiching actually quite coordinated, either you plan to wear them with dark bottoms(black/navy/dark denim) or even with beiges/olive.

I could be completely wrong but my first thought was that you are much more refined than the shoe. I do think Suz's example are not as much of a stretch to fit your style persona. I'm sure you can show me how completely wrong I am though in a wiw...

So, after Angie's thumbs up, I feel sheepish saying I always think of your style with a more refined shoe.

If you were going to go the loafer route, I would see you in a more Gucci-esque loafer.

Eh, I'm not really feeling them. I'm getting major comfort shoe vibe, comfort with a zing. But maybe if styled right.

You are right, Suz, Celia and Freckles. These are very casual and sporty, and while I prefer polished, dressy and more refined looks 98% of the time, I could see these work for me as my "more polished" version (to Joy's point) of the slip-on sneaker.

That's also why I prefer the gold metallic for myself, even though the orange and red are very fun. The metallic automatically makes them a little more polished too.

Laura - good point about the white part, but I have a product I also use to keep my Converse white and I think that will help keep these looking nice too. I certainly like my footwear to last longer than one season, but I somehow think these wouldn't look dated by next year.

Deb - I know Geox as a brand that usually makes comfy footwear, but have never owned a pair. I did try on a flat loafer in a store a few weeks ago and they felt great, but I was in between sizes in that style. So not sure if this one will fit right. Only one way to find out, right

Una - I usually wear a US size 8.5, so a relatively small size for my height. But my feet are not narrow

Manidipa - Ooh high five! Did you see them online or in a store? I think we should both give them a squizz.

Suz - I didn't know they were weatherproof, bonus points for that. And thank you for linking to the Donna Euro, a more polished classic style loafer for sure. It's lovely and I will keep it in mind in case the dressy loafers I have my eye on don't work out.

Lyn - So sweet of you. If these work out, I will post a picture, promise. And good point about the stitching. I think I need to see them irl to really judge how much of a contrast it is against the gold.

Thistle - No need for that at all, I really appreciate your input. And you are right: I have my eye on a dressy Ferragamo loafer, and those would function as my "refined Inge" loafers. I would use these Geox then as a more polished version of a slip-on sneaker. I think there's room in my wardrobe for both.

Anna - Totally get that. The only way to tell is to see them on my feet and try them with a couple of outfits.

I tried to find places that ship to Europe. I think shoescribe is based in Italy.

Oh, thank you Anna, that's very thoughtful of you. I like the aged effect of the Marc Jacobs, and the lace effect and soft colour of the last pair.
I also really liked the mauve Zara slip-on sneakers that Jenava modelled for us. I might go check those out too.
