Your input: which is the cooler shoe?

I already have an opinion (not a completely one-sided one, but I am veering toward one design over the other), but am curious to see what you all think.

Forget about price or which colors in my wardrobe are more likely to go with it. Simply, which one appeals more?

(I'm fearing that either would not automatically be comfortable and would need inserts and some kind of padding in the toebox....)

For me, the Born. Definitely the Born. Probably because they look more "refined" and less "rustic" and that's what feels best to my eye. I think these could be dressed up or dressed down and would be comfy and chic. Love the pop of red patent. I have some red patent heels and find they elevate many outfits.

I am with Kyle. The red patent will elevate the most casual outfit with their bit of polish and color.

I would pick these for myself -- and for where I think you are heading with your style in this new phase in your life.

Flats are really hard for me due to my fat feet. I'd try 10 for every one that fit. Can you try both?

Haven't checked to see the return policies...I am wanting to get into wearing flats, but apart from the new Giveable ones (so comfy!) I have immediately, like the moment I slip them on in the store, had trouble with them. I would like to figure out if there's a way around this with various inserts. If I can get free returns, I may try ordering to try them.

My two cents: I have a slight preference for the first pair. Keep in mind that 1) I lean towards a more casual style, and 2) I'm not the biggest fan of patent, so those things are influencing my input.

(Even though I do now own a pair of patent loafers in cranberry -- I like it when it's a more unexpected color than the usual black or bright red.)

Although I don't wear flat-flats, it would be the Born pair for me but I am a sucker for anything in red patent. The other pair look a tad too downbeat for my liking.

oh, then if you're planning to wear with skirts and such I'd go with the red.
But Modgirl is right about ordering more than one pair. And with 6PM you have to pay return shipping... here is what I'd do. I'd' order from zappos (they have the dublin, just not in red) and if they fit, then you know you're safe to order the red ones from 6pm. zappos also has the fryes. With zappos free returns, you can't go wrong ordering as many as you want to try!

I kind of like the RATE ones. The leather looks so real, soft and distressed (unlike patent, which has always looked like plastic to me). Don't get me wrong, I have some patent shoes, but it's more by default than by design because there's just so much of it out there right now. I think if boils down to casual vs. dressy.

Definitely the Borns. I have 6 pairs and they are the most comfortable shoes. The red patent leather is super cool and fun!

(The Borns were my strong choice...I do like the Fryes, but I wouldn't be ordering two such similar shoes.)
