I love my pilcro high-rise flares (they are maybe more bootcut than flare), with patch pockets. They just fit so perfectly that I feel good whenever I wear them.

Definitely a boyfriend style - lower on the hips always fits!

Such an interesting thread. Quite a few of us are into Boyfriends. A little surprising as I thought it was just me.
Vildy your jeans sound fabulous.

Not much of a denim person. I have a few pairs, all good for different purposes, but the flat out winners are the dropped crotch jacquard weave by VW Anglomania, sourced from the sale rail at her shop on Kings Road. Menswear, of course.

I can’t pick just one. Too much of a jeans girl and I like switching silhouettes. My two current favorites are my Nili Lotan Celia wide leg jeans and my COH Emerson boyfriend jeans (but I *really* need to get the waist taken in now that I’m slowly losing a little weight — for now a belt is essential). I’ve discovered that when I try wearing my old straight legs (which fit me more like skinnies do everyone else), I feel pretty un-fab. They’re going the holding zone for now.

I love these Esby Lindsay jeans. Nice even faded black wash, substantial all-cotton denim, fit like they were made for me.

Read every reply with great interest, as I'm having a bit of a crisis with jeans this year.

I am 5'3", which isn't crazy short, but I have unbelievably short legs, narrow hips and bum and a wide waist! I must order petite/short jeans and even then, they're sometimes too long. Ugh.

So far Everlane & Old Navy have been best for me.

These from Old Navy are cheap, and they are my faves, but I feel like they're a bit boring.

So much fun reading these. I live in jeans. I have to say two pairs I am equally fond of. New girlfriend jeans from Loft, and very old thrifted WHBM flares. Both mid rise.

To me these are two separate questions.

At any given moment my favorite jeans are likely to be those with some interest in their design, or new to me cut - more of a statement item. Right now I am undecided between wide legged pair with corset detailing at the waist and straight pair with both side stripe and side slit.

However, if I had to pick a single pair to wear for a year, I wouldn't go for my favorite pair, but for my most versatile pair that can be worn many different ways and ideally with shoes of different heel heights, so more of essential pair. At the moment that is the relaxed pair that can be worn both cuffed and uncuffed, full length. I may even be tempted to buy a similar pair in the uniform dark wash, so it is dressier and can work for smart casual.

Studio Nicholson cropped Ruthe jean!...I don't think they do the cropped one any more though, but of course, they are full length on me https://www.heddels.com/2020/0.....me-faders/

Here is the current version, not as wide and not cropped: https://www.studionicholson.co.....9615164840

I only have three pairs and I really like them all but currently don’t love any of them.

My Levi’s cropped ribcage straight are probably first but they can be unforgiving on a day with any bloat - both comfort and appearance. My Garcia slim straight are great for work and my G Star straight but loose are comfy to wear at home or in the summer.

I tried on black bootcut yesterday but decided to hold off. I have enjoyed not having to hem for different lengths with cropped jeans or even skinnies - bootcuts are more tricky!

My current favorites are those trouser style medium blue jeans.

These are my favorite at the moment: a light, loose pair of men's jeans, from Uniqlo U. I wear them with a big cuff.

I have so many jeans and I am constantly rotating the pool. My current favorite are Paige Cindy.

I have been on a white jeans kick lately but I counts those as separate

I am enjoying this thread. Janet's Nili Lotan jeans are on my wish list.

My favourite jeans (at the moment ) was an after thought. Just Jeans straight leg which I bought in a two for the price of one offer and I wanted to try a pair of bootcuts. I was only wearing them around during the weekend when my others were in the wash but I've put on a couple of kilos and they fit much better these days so they are my jean of choice. I like the classic appeal of straight leg these days.

Dark classic straight leg. Because they are timeless, relaxed elegant, and versatile.

Only one pair of jeans would be a dire wardrobe situation. I think the G Star Raw 3301 High Straight 90's. They are full length, so they are good year-round. They also look good rolled up. I love the dark wash, which can dress up a little bit, and they are a medium weight denim. So these are probably my most versatile jeans. They are comfortable, and I wear them a lot. Another pair I really love are the Mother Tomcat Straight Crop jeans I got at Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last summer. They are so soft and comfy. But you said only one.

@Firecracker: LOVE the look of those G-Star jeans, but of course they're out of stock.

They look like exactly what I've been looking for!

@Hereforthecake--yes, I bought them quite a while back. And I tried to buy a second pair in that cut but they turned out to fit and look so differently from these! Very frustrating.
