Your favourite casual jacket?

I am interested to hear what casual jackets work for you. In cooler weather (think under 20 degrees C) I like a light weight puffer jacket. I love how they provide protection from the wind, warmth and are light weight. My two favourites are in the photos. The cream and tweed one, because it is pretty and my leopard print puffer. The leopard print jacket is also reversible (so black with leopard lining) - is brilliant for travelling because I get two jackets in one. I like how casual puffers are.

For summer, I am yet to find the elusive favourite jacket...I purchased the JCrew pineapple blazer just for fun and like it with jeans, so it does have potential. However, it is too much of a statement for me to really treat it as a favourite jacket. For some reason a leopard print feels like more of a neutral for me than pineapples!

I would be very interested to see what others are wearing for summer.

Love the pineapple jacket and your son and Bijou are so adorable.
My favorite casual jacket for cooler but not chilly weather has been a little knit, unlined black bomber jacket that was an impulse buy. It is similar to the Find. That one is also a well-worn favorite, but navy. I wish that I had one in white. A close second is my white jean jacket. It used to be a blazer but I am reaching for a less structured jacket these days.

That pineapple blazer is super fun! I have three denim jackets that I wear as outerwear during the summer: one is faded blue, one dark blue (both from American Eagle) and one is white (Gap).

Love the pineapples but understand it may not be an everyday piece. I recently realized I only had gear jackets, and purchased this one from old navy, following a suggestion to look for a utility jacket from JAileen. I love the pockets and the way the waist tie offers some definition.

I wear a medium blue denim jacket from kut from the cloth for casual summer days. It goes with everything.

I ordered this in May. I'm considering it neutral, hope to wear it on fall trips. Long sleeves or a lightweight sweater are sufficient for winter here.

Your jackets are great, Bijou! I agree that leopard is a neutral, whereas pineapples, not so much. But the pineapple jacket looks fantastic on you--great fit and color, and fun style!

My favorite casual jackets are my olive leather moto jacket and my blue denim jacket. I also have a stone or sand-colored denim jacket that is very handy for summer.

My puffies are all coats. Jackets don't work for me that often, because I run so cold. Short runs out during the day tho - my olive bomber is probably working the best.

My favorite casual jacket is a green military-style jacket from Comptoir des Cotonniers with sleeves that can be shortened with a tab, a zip-away hood, and an internal band to adjust the fittedness of the waist. Sorry I am not on a proper computer today so I can't post a visual. The pineapple blazer is fun, but I can see how it's not as mix-and-match as something else could be.

Such cute photos! I love your casual jackets- fun and unique. My jackets tend to be solids and rather boring really but good workhorses. J Crew denim, Burberry quilted, black leather moto, rain jackets/gear for dog walks. But my all time favorite is a green utility coat from Old Navy that I bout 7 years ago!

My favorite jackets for summer, with shorts or cropped pants are blue or white denim jackets. When it's a little cooler and I'm wearing long pants, then I prefer my utility jackets, in olive or dark blue. They're probably my favorite jackets.

My most worn jackets are my bomber puffer and my green cropped jacket. I could do with another one - spring layering can be a battle for me.

I think a jacket in your most useful neutral is an essential but I don't have one that is casual!

Love all three pieces you show here, but admit I am confused by wearing a puffer (lightweight or not) in the summer. I don't even LOOK at mine until the weather dips well below say 8-10C. My casual jackets are all very rate-ish : army green cargo or military style jackets (one in a camo print , two others are plain olive) denim jackets, and leather motos. "Nicer" jackets for work or social occasions are where I dress it up a notch. I have lots of puffers (TNF Thermoballs) but wear them when it's closer to 0C. Where do you live?

And I LOVE that pineapple blazer - so funky!

I love your pineapple jacket. It looks great on you. I wear my denim jacket, leather jacket, green striped jacket, green fleece jacket and green utility jacket. I am like Lisa. My puffers don`t come out until it is much colder.

I wear blazers all the time. The Gibson Riding Jacket is the go to casual blazer. Adore this and it looks great with everything. Theory Selata long jacket another work horse. The EF black anorak is the ultimate rain coat for spring, summer and early fall and madewell does make the perfect leather jacket which I bought deliberately oversized. I feel like "Charlie" in Top Gun every time I wear it!!

Thank you so much for the replies, I think a utility jacket or denim jacket is probably a great solution for the casual spring and summer evenings. Finding a good summer jacket does seem to be much more difficult than winter ones.

Texstyle, I am particularly taken with your JCrew utility jacket and also love Angie's pretty denim jacket and white denim jackets.

LisaP - I run cold and my winter puffer jackets are light. I live in Western Australia and we don't get below 0C even on cold winter nights, it is a mediterranean climate. A cold day for me is when the maximum is below 18C. I can deal with very hot weather though, our summers seem to be endless.

I have an old green tweed Pendleton jacket that I find myself reaching for. I like that it's ever so slightly frumpy; it covers my bum and has three buttons...it makes me feel cheeky for some reason.

I also wear a cropped, distressed denim jacket that I got ages and ages ago quite a lot in the not-too-cool weather.

My favourite casual jacket is my pleather moto. On a cold day I may wear a coat over the top of it, especially for mornings and evenings, when it can as low as 6-8 C, and is often windy as well.

I'd like a cropped fitted denim jacket, but have put off getting one as it would split wears with the moto.

My puffer, like RL's is a coat rather than a jacket. Our puffers in Australia are quite lightweight and I wear it on rainy winter days rather than a wool coat. I also wear it around the house sometimes if I don't want to put the heater on in winter.

Lisa P, I don't think Bijou meant that she wore a puffer in summer. As she says (I live in the same city) our summers are hot and long. In fact I'm surprised she could wear that pineapple jacket!

My favorite, most-worn lightweight casual jackets tend to be my leather motor (blue, cream, and grey), my Paige denim jacket (waving at Angie, my jacket twin), and lately, my Zara embroidered bomber, which I've worn a ton since I bought it.

I just got a Levi's denim jacket in SF -- it's an "altered trucker" style, with removed collar and cut off waistband, so it is a fun, RATE, update on a classic. I think I'll get lots of use out of it.

Gayleen - I love the variety of looks you have. The JCrew jacket is lovely and a silk bomber is a great summer weight jacket.

Anne - you are right, I was thinking that for winter, a casual jacket is easy, but when we get to warmer weather finding a good casual jacket is more difficult. I will be wearing my pineapple jacket in spring and on summer evenings when there is a bit of a chill in the air. I love you in your moto jacket.

I struggle with summer jackets. In "theory" I like a denim jacket but I never wear them. I don't like the feel of denim against my skin and I feel a denim colour near my face makes me look tired. I am always on the lookout for a casual cotton blazer like the ones that Diana wears but they are hard to find here. (If you ever find one here please sing out!)

I love both the leopard print and the pineapple jacket. My absolute fave black jacket is worn for both work and weekend much of the year, just not the very coldest days or very hottest. I chose it carefully to replace a very soft thin merino jacket that was wearing out, from a brand and in a shape that I already knew worked. It is acrylic and polyester, unlined and soft. I bought it in 2016 and it has already been worn 60 times.
My summer fave is the newish floral bomber bought on super sale in March 2016 and worn 33 times so far. It cost $30 so under $1 per wear. It is a standout piece but I have been mixing florals quite a lot. Sorry pic is dark.

Brooklyn I seem to have a similar issue with denim jackets. I should like and wear them, but for some strange reason they always feel a little off on me and I invariably swap them for something else.

Jenni NZ I love your jackets. So great that you were able to replace your favourite black jacket. This is the issue I face, the lining in my favourite black jacket has torn and the jacket looks worn, but I just can't seem to find a replacement for it. I will just have to be patient and enjoy and use what I currently own.

I have 2 casual summer jackets, both very useful to me, but probably not polished enough for you :
a navy cotton moto, it's unlined, unpadded - so really unconstricting and folds easily in a travel bag - and washable
a weatherproof red cotton utility jacket with plenty of pockets, good for weekend errands

Beyond the standard cropped denim and utility jackets, I have a cream linen bomber-style. And a lot of less casual blazers that I squeeze in whenever possible. I love westies and Bijou is a cutie.
