Your favorite tall boots from past seasons.

I practically live in tall boots throughout the fall and winter. Sadly, both my brown and black pairs bit the dust last season and need to be replaced. Boots aren't the only thing I need to purchase this fall, so I'll likely settle for just one pair new from this season. But I'd also like to stalk ebay for options in the other color.

I need help narrowing the search for past season options. Do you own an old style that still feels current? I'm thinking a classic flat/low-heeled riding boot.

I have some simple ivanka trump riding style boots that I bought a few years ago and I still love them! I bought the black and brown and am so glad I did.

Meredith, I am just like you, I LOVE tall boots as they can instantly crank up the wow factor of many of my outfits. I've got to ask you, what style of tall boot do you like the most?

- riding boots

- dressy boots with high heel

- cowgirl boots

- comfy shearling boots

Riding boots, one of my favourites, has been fairly consistent over the last few years in terms of look and style. I am pretty certain you can be wearing a pair of riding boots from 2010 and as long as they are in good condition, no one will know that they are from several years ago.

I have attached two photos. One is a riding boot, the other is a dressy high heel boot and both styles seem to be carrying over from years past. In fact, the riding ones I am wearing now, I bought several years ago.

Laura, I think riding boots are the direction I want to go because they are so classic and I love the sleek look. The cognac option is beautiful. I know I can look into Fryes and everyone seems to be raving about the Aquatalias at NAS. What else should I consider?

I have had this pair for a couple of years. I like that they are classic enough in look that I think they will look current for as long as knee high boots remain so. They have also been very durable so far. Only con was the high price!

I have cognac, but they're heeled. Miz Mooz Gayle is the style. $77 off Amazon way back when. They fold up to knee high or down like spats.

I really like the Cole Haan Jodhpur boots. I have them in burgundy and cognac. I also like my Stuart Weitzman set-a-side boots.

My only tall boots (other than Hunter wellies) are a pair of flat white Tsubo boots that are reminiscent of the 1960s go-go boots. I really like them, but I suspect they are NOT what you have in mind.

2. Aquatalia Undy (angie's NAS pick two years ago, love and wear alot)
3. Charles David Regiment boots (another angie nas pick, love)
4. Stuart Weitzman Hammer OTK boots - favorites another angie pick (big boot lemming here)
Best snow boots Uggs belcloud and Uggs adirondak short and tall. Other than the SW chicboots, they are all low heeled for great comfort and traction but nothing like a tall black suede boot with a heel for dress. But never met a boot I did not like!! Enjoy the hunt!

Depending where you live you may need different types of boots. I live in Canada with long, cold and very snow-y winters so "fashion" boots just do nut cut it for me for 4 months in a row. I need my winter boots to be waterproof, warm and slip-resistant in winter but I don't wnat to wear gear snow boots all the time.
Mu saviors were Blondo riding boots which looked stylish and slinky and in the same time met all my "winter" criteria. I can wear them until -15C in snow and slush and still keep my style. I am on the look out for a similar pair in another color to add more variety to my winter....

I have the Michael Kors riding boots - black with gold - and they will be going into their 3rd winter. Sturdy, polished, can be dressy, can instantly make a casual outfit look polished, and I can walk through the entire Toronto airport in them . Important stuff On my wish list are the 5050's. Expensive, but apparently worth the $ in terms of quality, versatility (folding options) and weatherproof solutions.

Sveta, I will definitely look into the brand you suggested. My black boots were purchased on the fly during a trip to Barcelona because the flats I had packed weren't warm enough. They worked ok back home in Denver as long as I was moving, but my toes would get cold if I was still too long. And they definitely were showing wear from the salt and slush. This will be my first winter in Kansas, so I'm not quite sure what winter will hold!

I bought these both last year (or before), thinking the cognac Melissa boot would be my go-to, but instead, the black Paige is my everything! I need it in another color, quite actually. It's SO comfortable, and I must have longer lower legs, because almost NOTHING is knee length on me, but the Paiges come pretty close.

I have had success with the following brands: Civico 10 (from DSW), Rockport, Cole Haan, and Frye. I've heard good things about La Canadienne too.
