Basic black or white crewneck:

(also available in navy as well).
Runs a bit large, so order a size smaller if you can. These are quite well-made, and thicker than the usual tees we've been seeing for awhile now.
Not a classic tee, but these elbow sleeved boatnecks are also quite nice:

Extremely good deal? Check JC Penney for their St. John's Bay tees - very reasonable quality, especially for the price. They are *not* the super-tin tissue-weight tees, and you can often get them for as little as $5 a piece! Insane!

I really like the JNY tees, and some of the Ralph Lauren tees are quite nice too. Much better quality than the typical tees - worth the extra cost. That said - the St. John's Bay tees at JC Penney of all places are surprisingly good quality, especially for the price. It would be worth it to pop in there if you have a JCP nearby and try a few out, and then from then on - you can just order replacements/new colours online at your leisure. The JCP tees seem like $20-$30 tees, but are usually always less than $10 each. A very good deal. They don't look all that great online, but they're pretty nice tees.
Note: if you're smaller than a size 4, then most of these tees are going to be a bit on the larger side. All other sizes, size down for sure. If you think you're a medium, order a small etc.
