JAileen, don't they look more like taupe here? But on the shelf they are totally gray, not a hint of warmth or gold in their shade. I think it's a weird special effect from the patent combined with my pale, cool skin.
Bijou, thank you, your comment IS very useful. Your impression is the same as mine, but you bring up a good point: the gray would be useful with shorter hems, which I have been shying away from for lack of nice shoes to wear it with... (I'd wear the skirts and dress shown here with boots or booties, or with flat sandals, which is another look entirely).
CocoLion, wow! Thank you! Your list matches my own preferences too. It's eye opening to take pictures and see them on me this way. Blue ones ARE really popping blue, but I realize that once on me, they tend to loose their bright, blue pigment quality. I imagine they would look terrific on a gal with darker, tan or olive skin. On my they are cute, but just sometimes cute and don't pop as much with everything. Again, I suspect the patent to play a role in this.
Harmonica, I was afraid of the same thing. And you are right, in general gray matte shoes are hard to match. But these, because of the high gloss, almost look taupe. I hear your caution though.
As for the pants, these were actually hand me downs from friends' rich neighbor's teenage daughter (never worn, with the tag still on it) from the store H&M. Last year, I wore them sometimes feeling very conscious about the larger leg look, because my eye was still into the skinny silhouette. This year, though, I am in love with them and feeling more confident too. I feel I will get a lot of wear from these. They are lined, which make them more comfortable IMO.
