Cookie, your hair is just gorgeous. My mother would have killed for me to have curls.

neutrals and classic stripes for me!

Aww, thank you so much, JAileen! Funnily enough my mom would have killed for my hair to be straight and glossy, but she’s come to terms.

Such a fun read! Thanks, Carla! Your signature descriptions are particularly spot on. Suz and Suntiger too

The Fabbers that have posted their signatures here are bang on the money! WELL DONE!

FWIW, I have some signatures to add to some people in case they forgot them.

Carla: A delightful mop of strawberry blonde curls.

MsMary - thank goodness you remembered stripes. I'd add BIG skirts!

Irina - Scandi style!

Jaime - you forgot your signature large and awesome crossbodies!

Jaileen - your fabulous bird watching gear is signature

Sal - I see an honest sporty element as part of your signature style too.

Janet - the rock 'n roll element to your style is signature too.

Lisa - BLUE is signature to your style!

Zaoebi - I'd add gorgeous cascading dark locks that frame the aviators.

Jenny - I see narrow pants as signature to you!

kkards - jeans are signature to your style too.

Helena - I'd add refined jewelry and long dark hair!

Oh, I like that, thank you Angie! x

Helena, like Dee, you are also distinctly classic! Definitely signature

Thank you, all, for contributing to this thread. I totally agree with what folks have volunteered about their signatures. Also, a big thanks to Angie for providing additional insight!

I think once we recognize some of these things, like our neutrals, our basics, our signatures, etc. - we can reverse engineer to find our style words!

Great topic!

Right off the top, my cropped, curly hair is a signature. Long hair overwhelms my features and can be difficult to manage.

Wide leg pants a la Katharine Hepburn is a signature look. Sophisticated and elegant.

Bold color and pattern is another signature and a nod to my love for 1960s and 1970s style.

Statement earrings: When you have a cropped hairstyle, statement earrings are a no-brainer.

Colorful footwear: Black footwear has its place in my wardrobe, but I'll always choose colorful footwear first.

Orange: Move over, Angie! I also adore orange and wear it year round. It's my happy color.

Well articulated, Nuancedream! Go Team Orange

Carla, good point about reverse engineering! And I forgot to answer your question, so here's my contribution:

Signature to my style, or as Brooklyn calls it, "Style Constants":

  • PEARLS -waving ar Irina and Debbie!
  • statement specs
  • statement handbags
  • white footwear and belts
  • white bottoms
  • red bottoms
  • shirts with collars - popped. Waving to Suz, Carla and Dee!
  • sour brights - from head to toe, tonal, monochromatic, or clashing
  • flat footwear
  • gold
  • classic patterns
  • no nailpolish
  • coverage - I don't show much skin

Back to you!

My goodness Angie is absolutely right BLUE is most certainly part of my signature style. I wasn’t even thinking about colors but it’s a great reminder! I can’t forget about being on team blue. Thank you Angie!

Such fun to think about and love reading everyones!
My signatures are:
- Stripes - like others I’m always drawn to the striped version of something
- Floral/Patterned Skirts - especially for work
- Dresses - feel my most pulled together in dresses and when my sister asks what I’m wearing to something she always knows it’s a dress!
- Navy - people often comment on how many navy outfits/items I wear/have. I even only wear navy nail polish on my toes!

Fun, interesting reading.

My signatures:
• Thick wavy short silver hair
• Bold glasses
• High-neck and round-neck tops
• Necklace or scarf. (Sometimes both!)
• Midi skirts
• Long straight pants/jeans
• Third piece (long or standard cardigan, blazer, or thin buttonfront shirt)
• Birk style sandals
• Ballet flats and loafers
• Riding boots
• Shoulder bags
• Long coats
• Blue (all kinds)
• Grey/silver

what great fun to read!
my signatures include lots of textures (leather, faux fur, metallics):

  • leopard print, faux fur jackets
  • leather jackets
  • artsy jewelry--especially scandi modern
  • black and dark cool tones, often as a column of color
  • graphic tees
  • turquoise both the color and the stone (and blue in general)
  • boots
  • metallic shoes
  • blond hair, long
I realize most of these have been pretty signature for my style since I was a teenager!
