You Might Have an Online Shopping Problem If.......

You run home to look online for an item that you simply *must* have, and find that there is an online ordering confirmation for the item already in your email inbox.
Oops!

But I really did need them for winter, and they were on sale and I had a great coupon. (brown skinny cords, in case you're wondering- to tuck into my engineer boots on really cold days at the park. They were marked down to $19.99 and I had a $10 off code)

From where? Chewyspaghetti, isn't it dangerous? Available anytime of day, anywhere....yes it is dangerous indeed. Plus with all the free shipping codes, discount codes and so on (and ebates!) it is really addictive. I hear you for sure!

Be glad you don't work for a retail store...what I don't buy while at work...I order from them on line...it never ends.

It IS dangerous. I'm totally cracking from being unable to buy anything I just bought that dress from the Esprit outlet, two t-necks from AT, and the denim pencil skirt from ON. Yes they were all on super sale and yes I have lots of discounts and free shipping...but I'm not making any money! I feel a combination of horror and joy. I just keep telling myself that these are all super versatile basics that I don't currently have and they are all things I can wear to my internship(s) and job(s).

I daren't log onto marks and spencer webste anymore because i always end up ordering something, thankfully ebay isn't an expensive place for an online shopping addict! x

I have of a huge number of open browser tabs of things I want right now. I find putting together a blog post of Stuff I Want helps me trim the list to a manageable level and lets me see realistically what might really work in my wardrobe and what is just the rush of seeing something new and pretty.

I tried them on in the store, but they didn't have the size/color that I needed.
If all of these pieces work out, I will have a fuller winter wardrobe than I have had since we moved here. A choice of warm pants- I can't imagine what that will be like!

I work at a job that's slow Wednesdays through Fridays so all I do is puruse online retail sites. I really don't shop much in person anymore.
What's really bad is that I'll be watching Sports Center with my husband and comment "Oh, her outfit is from JCrew. That's the Elizabeth Ruffle Shirt and the Watercolor leopard pencil skirt".
Yikes.

The other day my husband looked at me and then at our dd, and said "I just realized that all of this fashion stuff is going to cost me twice- because you're teaching her!"
My ponte knit pants are supposed to be here today- exciting!

Khris, you have lots of company! My laptop is in our kitchen, where I spend a lot of time. Dangerous! I did much better when I had to walk all the way to the basement to get on the computer.

My friend is a habitual online shopper, she no longer needs to take her credit card from her purse when ordering as she remembers all of the numbers from all of the cards.

Well, my master plan did not work. I did my Stuff I Want post and I stlll went on a spree picking up other items I didn't even put in the post. LOL!

In my defense, I did not realize LOFT was having a BOGO free sale on sweaters. I picked up 4 for half price, then I had a 30% off coupon AND a $20 style card. No one is strong enough to resist that kind of deal!

Oh I just bought a very similar pair of cords in dark grey from LOFT for around the same price and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I think I have worn them 4 times and only have had them for 2 weeks. LOL

And I am with you on the dangers of online shopping. I have ordered from LOFT 3 times in the last 2 weeks... 3 seperate orders. LOL which means I paid shipping thrice... oops. But I loved the cords so much I bought a similar fit pair of non-cords, and then I saw their Buy one, get one free on sweaters. How can you pass up THAT??

Latest online shopping problem? Wondering if anything I might order right now will be here in time before I leave on my trip (the 23rd). I've become accustomed to 'free' 2-day shipping from Amazon and so on, and I seem to be the Queen of Last Minute somehow. Speaking of shipping - I don't like paying for shipping. This results in buying more 'stuff' so as to qualify for 'free shipping'. Ack!

Mattie- I like to do just do a search before I check out at an online store. Google the store name+promo code and you often find something.

VC, I have that problem too. I hate paying for shipping!

I used to get all excited for 10% discounts until I one day realized how little 10% really is. It isn't even enough to cancel out the cost of shipping in most cases, unless you buy at least $70 worth of clothes, which I don't really do.

I just got a discount for 15% off at Urban Outfitters...which, of course, is the kind of store I can really do some damage in. I keep revisiting my wish list and almost buying something, but so far I have resisted. It's sooo hard though! They have a MUFF for sale right now! I have wanted a faux fur muff for years. It's killing me!

I have more wish lists than I'll ever possibly be able to afford. It's so depressing seeing that "out of stock. please remove." message every time I log in for something I really wanted.

I use Ebates almost exclusively. All of the known coupons AND cash back from orderling online all in one spot. I'm notified of coupons, plus I've "earned" $70 in cash back just from purchasing things I would normally purchase online anyway. If anyone wants an email invite, let me know.
I also sign up for every retailer online. I get tons of junk mail, but I also get great coupons. Three I got just today:
50% off boots at Nine West
50% off denim and other items at Martin + Osa
40% off one item at Ann Taylor + free shipping
aaaand if I order online through Ebates I'd get cash back on top of all of that.
It's a dangerous world.

Dangerous, yes, I agree Sarah! My husband teases me by saying, "It's such a deal, you can't afford NOT to buy it!" Which of course is the totally illogical thinking that you can fall into with all these "deals" .... sigh ...

I signed up for ebates, and it never worked for me so I stopped using it. I even emailed them and they were no help.
