This is going to sound like a commercial, but I LOVE this thing! Has anyone seen it? It's a machine that takes frozen bananas and any fruit you want and turns it into a creamy dessert like frozen yogurt. In seconds!

I got it because I'm allergic to dairy...so admittedly I forget what frozen yogurt really tastes like. But this stuff is fantastic. My favorite combos are banana-black cherry-chocolate chip, banana-strawberry-chocolate chip, and banana-mango. You don't add sugar...basically you are eating a few pieces of fruit but it feels like a major dessert treat.

I haven't checked the link, but from the description alone Parsley - I am sure you can. Vitamix is powerful form what I've seen (it's on my wish list...).
For now, I make great fruity mixes with regular blender alone.

We make similar things in our blender quite often - And my inlaws in their Norwalk (now that's a real treat - the Norwalk fruit "ice cream" - because it makes it super smooth and creamy, even without bananas.)

Yes I have one of these machines. I do not find it the same as a blender or bullet. It is more like a frozen yogurt machine. The kids love it and I can keep them away from Dairy Queen. We don't use it as often as we should - more in the summer. Now today, at -5 this morning, they want hot chocolate.

I've used the food processor to make "ice cream" out of frozen bananas, and it's worked well, if anybody wants to avoid a single-use appliance.

Yes Parsley, you can do this in a vitamix! I have done it by basically chucking frozen fruit and maybe some sugar in it and whizzing for ~30-45 seconds. You can add some yogurt too if you like. The recipe actually came with my Vitamix. They say you shouldn't go longer because it heats up too much and you want it to stay frozen. It comes out like sorbet consistency. I hate bananas with a passion so I've never done it with them but I'm sure it would work with a frozen banana. My favorite combo is strawberry and mango.

I'm not so sure it would be the same In vitamix...probably still good, but I don't know. And you can do it with any fruit but it comes out more like sorbet...not as creamy as with the bananas.

Of course if you hate bananas that's a no go. Like me and dairy.

I go low tech. I take Greek yogurt (Trader Joe's nonfat plain) and add unsweetened frozen berries that have thawed a tiny bit. I attack with a fork and sometimes add sugar or sweetener. The consistency is close to frozen yogurt. I use a cereal bowl and make one serving at a time (mine!). Nothing extra to wash, and of course the bowl goes in the dishwasher.

Both this and the low-tech Greek yogurt version sound amazing! Man, I need to eat more fruit. (and less ice cream!)
