How else can I style it?

I like the print. Maybe wear them separately? Together they look too 70s-dress to my eye...

I really like the print on those pieces. They do not look dowdy at all. That being said, wearing them together is a more fashion forward, non traditional look, which isn't going to appeal to every eye. Wearing them separately as Laura suggests would definitely work. I think they can work worn together, but how to do that specifically falls under the category of "advanced style" for me. Others will be able to give you better advice on that front but you should definitely keep.

Angie, I really like those pieces because they are breezy and move in such a romantic way. I bought them from a Kookai store while in Morocco. I later saw an African wear the same one, only on her it looked 200% better!

But I know, looking at the pics, the whole thing doesn't look that good. It's very hard for me to part with it, especially now that I don't have anything exciting to replace it with.

So it's a question of styling it then.

I can see the appeal. There is, yes, a breeziness. And you have been searching for that in your outfits. I love the grey on you and the print itself.

How about breaking them up? It seems like a lot of print for you, somehow. I never used to believe that about myself when people would say it (on the forum or IRL.) But I have come to see the wisdom.

However, if you want to wear together, I am sure there would be a way. It might have to do with footwear. Though I am not at all sure what to suggest!

Love the color on you. I think it would improve the skirt to shorten just below the knee.

I'm going to suggest something mad, so hold on to your scarf!

How about... finding a wide printed sash or belt to break up the pattern and pattern-mix at the same time? Or use a bold-patterned cardi or striped blazer. Make sure the scale differs from this print, and let the colours be brights or unequivocally neutral.

I feel like the way to go with this pattern is not to try silencing/smothering it with quiet solids but to mute it with *more* vibrant voices that all play together into an even buzz.

And maybe then add a pop of solid brights in bag, shoes, beads --- emerald green would be great with that print, and hot pink or yellow (like Suz's song of a bag!) as well. Or just make that two, even three solids, maybe? red and fuchsia, yellow and green and blue...

I actually really like this, which surprises me! I think blue suede shoes (or blue suede knee boots! OK, I know, I am being ridiculous) are in order here.

Jenava, rats, I just sold my knee high blue suede boots... but boots may be the way to go here. Will try that too.

I'd like to see the fit of the skirt on it's own, and with another top. Is that possible?

And perhaps the top with another bottom. The skirt gives me more pause than the top. Lets try to make them work (update them) if you love them
