ylf-store q: white shirts for apples (w pic!)

Angie's latest store offering has gotten me wondering about finding a non-plus size equivalent white shirt that would work for apples.

Thanks to ylf I have realised all 3 of my white shirts are really only skirt length, not trouser length.

I bought a Warm riviera blue jcrew button down that fits perfectly around the shoulders & bust, but is too fitted through the waist/tummy for me to feel comfortable wearing it without a layer on top. It's getting hot here (31°C today) so layering isn't that appealing anymore!

Does anyone have a go-to brand & style of shirt that always works and is made out of nice, light fabric?

Would love to see any apple & trouser friendly recommendations you have

Take a look on line at Brooks Brothers...they have 3 different fits....They have a great never iron button up that Oprah featured:)

I have had good luck with Ann Taylor Loft for button down shirts with stretch. I have a hard time finding button down shirts that fit my shoulders, bust and tummy.

For the shirt you showed, I don't really notice the pulling.

When mine do this, I layer a thin cami underneath in the same or similar color and unbutton some of the buttons on the shirt.

It doesn't really draw attention to the cami, but it does give me some "breathing room" on the shirt and smooths out everything a bit. Also a fun way to layer if you do want to do a contrasting color.

I have tried unbuttoning both the top and the bottom buttons at different times with a cami and it works for me.

One other place that fits me is Banana Republic. The quality is so good, that an old shirt has lasted me YEARS.

They make the same Foxcroft shits in regular sizes – both in fitted and less structured styles. But I fear the length would be too short. The plus sized version is longer for some reason.

I'm with Taylor - try Brooks Brothers.

I will try a cami undrneath too and leaving the last button undone. Hope that isn't too warm though. Would it be a bad look to undo the button and not have a cami underneath?

Angie I'm doing ok all things considered. Got to start moving out soon, Im really dreading it and just being in denial and procrastinating about the whole thing!

I love my white shirt that I bought not that long ago,brand is (Lady Dutch) it has nice rushing in the front.

Check out Eddie Bauer as well. Their shirts are not the hippest but they are pretty forgiving around the midsection. Some styles come in tall sizes; those might work as trouser length for you.
