hehehe this is me being super excited LOL

I'd love to know how you lovely ladies have worked out what to wear to a YLF meet?

Do you just dress as you usually do, or do you put in a little *extra* for the fabulous ladies here? Do you pick a fabulous/favourite item and go from there? Do you try to up you style quotient a tad more than usual?

It's 2 weeks tomorrow til our Aussie meet, and whilst I'm not going to settle on an outfit until I get a weather report from the locals closer to the day, I am trying to work out outfit options suitable of such a fantastically, fabulous occasion!

Actually, feel free to post a pic in this thread of what you wore to your YLF Meet - then you can refer back next time to be sure you don't wear the same thing ROFL!!!

I definitely wanted to bring my a-game to the one YLF meetup I took part in. It was a smaller-scale affair than some of the other gatherings, since it just involved two of us for a dinner date, but I know I'd be in pretty great company and wanted to try and keep pace! I wore an outfit that had received *very* strong ylf approval about a year ago and that incorporated a couple of elements I wouldn't be sporting without this website. My outfit was a patterned-knee-length skirt in black, yellow and grey paired with a yellow blouse (at the right length). Pewter sandals and chunky pearls are staples of my current look, but had no place in my pre-ylf wardrobe (more's the pity)! I went with a white handbag that day just to avoid matchiness and because it was still seasonally appropriate.
I hope you ladies have the best ever time!

On my couple of meet ups I definitely wanted to look stylish, but not overkill or make anyone uncomfortable.
When I met with Alecia I kind of knew her style and a new baby so I knew she wouldn't be wearing a suit and heels, so I wore leggings, boots, longer top and a cropped jacket...she wore a darling knit dress and flats...we looked like we were shopping companions instead of one of us on a business meeting:)

I would be a wreck meeting Angie....what does one wear to meet royalty?

I usually put a little extra effort in if it's a big "official" meet-up. If I'm just meeting Sarah and/or Patience after school for coffee or low-key shopping, then I will wear what I normally wear to school, which is usually casual/smart casual, depending on the weather. Likewise I think in those situations Sarah is just wearing what she wore to work (which is always fabulous).

The Seattle meetup I put a decent amount of thought into, but I was also traveling a long way by car, and I didn't have much warm weather clothing, which made things difficult. I wasn't nervous though, it was fun.

For the first few meetups I made a wreck of myself trying to decide what to wear, but since then I just wear what I wear every day. I have nothing to hide!

I always try to wear something with YLF symbolism, and it isn't hard to do. Virtually everything I own is somehow inspired by or connected to YLF.

I've been to one YLF meetup and another is on the horizon. I definitely think a lot about what to wear. Right off the bat, shoes have to comfortable since there's a lot of on-foot travel involved -- and as we know, the need for comfortable shoes can be bloody hell on style.

Biggest difference for me between my first meetup last March and the one that's coming up in October: I'm actually thinking already about which handbag to carry.

But Ylf-meetups are fun!!! And that's really the best part...sure we're all putting effort into dressing ourselves (and rightly so), but we're going to be meeting up with some fabulously non-judgmental people who will ultimately be more focused on meeting you than in checking out your shoes! Let's all keep Angie's cardinal rule in our minds!

Well, for the last meet-up I went to I was living out of a tiny suitcase, so I didn't really have a choice about what to wear! And honestly, everyone treated me fabulously even if I wasn't looking super fab.

The other few I've gone to I haven't really stressed much about either. I just wear what I usually wear.

Actually, I never stray from what I usually wear each day. Not for Fashion Week and not for meet ups. Whatever tickles my fancy that morning is what I end up wearing. Granted, I have to plan my FW outfits because of the suitcase thing - but they are all "ordinary Angie-oufits". Those who see me regularly will keep me honest! If they weren't I wouldn't feel comfortable and have fun - which is as Michelle already reiterated - the cardinal YLF rule.

That said, I PM'ed you T, and suggested what you should wear

Angie I have noted your advice! It was actually one of the top contenders LOL

I think my biggest issue will be footwear - all of my favourite shoes aren't really super long distance walking, and I'll be doing a considerable amount of walking before I even meet the ladies (Valentino Exhibition - here I come!!).

Oh and I was going to say, I think my idea is that because this meet is in my State's Capital, I will dress the way I would if I lived there - which is just a fancier version of how I dress here - that's kind of what I've done everything I've visited Bris LOL

Can I just also say, I'm SO EXCITED!!!! Only 13 sleeps to go!!!
