I’ve worn Converse continuously since 8th or 9th grade, so, 30+ years. For years I just had the classic Chucks, up a full size because of the narrow toe. My current versions are classic Chucks in wide width (solves the toe problem for me); the Lift platform; and the chunky Run Star Hike. I have them each in classic black and white, plus lilac Lift platforms and solid black leather Run Star.
Despite the heavy, clunky sole, the Lift platforms are more comfortable for me. I’m considering getting them in silver leather as well but I have too many Converse so I should probably resist.
I also have a few older ones I haven’t passed along yet - an old ‘Slim’ style with a very thin sole and some black leather wedges from when those were popular. I bet they’ll rotate back into favor eventually.
(Edit - I have custom orthotics in place of the insole in the Slim version, from when I had a dance injury. The standard insoles aren’t meant to be removable but you can rip them out with some effort. I don’t bother now but back when I was healing, it made a huge difference for all the usual Converse flaws.)
