YLF Collections Issue

Whenever I try to use this feature (on various websites) I get this error message:

"Please log in to YLF before using the bookmarklet. You can log in to YLF in a separate window and then come back to this page and try the bookmarklet again."

At the time I am trying to use the function, I am logged in--I have tried logging out and logging back in--still doesn't work. I have also tried deleting the YLF Collects from favorites and resaving--still doesn't work for me.

What am I doing wrong? I would love to be able to use this feature and was able to at first but then it stopped working. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Angela,

This is something that has been reported in the past but we haven't been able reproduce it ourselves. This makes it very hard to debug, but we'll keep trying.

To get started, which web browser are you using? And are you using a Windows PC, a Mac or a smartphone of some sort?

Hi Greg,

Thanks for getting back with me. I use a Windows PC with Windows 7 as the OpSys. I use Internet Explorer 11 for the web browser. Could it have something to do with my security settings on my computer or even pop up blocker settings?

I hope I'll be able to use this feature--it really is a great tool!

One way to immediately get going is to try with a different browser, like Chrome or Firefox. If you happen to have one of those installed, please give it a try.

With Internet Explorer the problem is intermittent. When we were initially testing Finds we saw it on one PC and then it mysteriously went away.

It might help to clear all the caches, but that is a little inconvenient. To do so you can open Internet Options and then press "Delete" under Browsing History. Select the temporary files and cookies and click "Delete". The inconvenient part is that you will need to re-enter passwords when you go back to sites like YLF. It is also not guaranteed to work.

I'm sorry I don't have more to offer. This seems to be something specific to IE and we just don't understand it yet.
