Thank you all for your positive thoughts. I'm so glad I did this! doubleh, I thought it was a good challenge. It got me out of my comfort zone!

Great job of rising to the occassion and especially difficult when the inspiration was a 13 year old's closet....

You look great and the color is very flattering! But the best part was what you said about picking up the jacket in the living room floor - I say once they leave it there long enough it becomes public property!

So, how do you feel wearing more color? Is there anything that you'd adapt from your DD's way of dressing for daily wear?

You did it! And so well!!! You look fantastic in that colour! Oh and the boots are just awesome!!!

I love love love you in this Marmee!! You are such a sport!!! It truly was a challenge for you!

Great job Marmee! Though you say you're out of your comfort zone, you don't look it one bit.

This is a great RATE look, Marmee! <cheering> And how *did* it feel to put on the bright plaid? (asking as a neutrals devotee myself) It definitely looks good on you, but how did it feel?

You're so close to being finished with the challenge chain. All that's left to close your link of the chain is to challenge the next person, and the random number generator says that person is... #27, which is ramya.

Whenever you're ready, go ahead and open a new thread with the challenge, and in the meantime I'll PM ramya and let her know that she's next.

wow, i love this outfit on you.
and i agree with suz, those boots are fab!

You look cute as can be in your jeans and plaid shirt, Marmee!
It's great that it can be inspired by a 13 year old, but still look totally appropriate for a mom. Great job on rising to the occasion for the challenge!

Adorable look! And I love your Uggs.

What a great look for you Marmee! I love it on you and love your description because it sounds like you had loads of fun with it. Also enjoyed reading about the life of the DD and clothing on the floor - my life exactly with coats and socks - socks everywhere.
Also the boots rock and I would not be ready to give them up yet either.

You're such a good sport, and you look great.

I keep thinking that if my own mother had to do this she would cheat and go only for the hand-me-downs!

Well done, Marmee! I'm glad it was fun for both you and your daughter

Great job Marmee!!!

Thanks, April! How did it feel to wear color? It felt a little odd, but mostly it felt odd to wear a button up shirt, even though it was unbuttoned! I really disliked the shape on myself.

Another funny thing is that when I was composing my challenge for Ramya, I went back to read doubleh's challenge for me, and realized that I didn't read her challenge carefully the first time. Doubleh suggest that I incorporate something (item or inspiration) from my daughter's wardrobe into an outfit that I wear to attend an event with her. The outfit I created was definitely an at home outfit! If I were to do it over again, perhaps I would go out and buy a colored cashmere sweater to wear to the event!

Haha. My intention was merely to keep you away from "costume" territory. But maybe you SHOULD get that sweater!

I love it. You look like the "cool mum" at the school gate! I like the colour on you, too.
