@K - LOL. I laughed so hard that both daughters were concerned.
Okay everyone, I finally decided on an outfit that somewhat reflects DD #1's style. Today, she left the house wearing black capri summerweight leggings and a flannel plaid shirt with her beloved Patagonia parka and cons. For my ensemble, I chose some jeans which are supposed to be skinnies, but fit big, as I've lost at least a size since purchasing them, a flannel checked shirt, and Cons. DD normally buttons her shirts but this particular shirt only buttons to mid-chest (I own three Frank & Eileen shirts and all three are like that...not sure why I buy them, other than I really like the quality of the cotton) and I think it looks weird buttoned up.
I asked DD to take the photo, and when she looked that the camera she started laughing and couldn't stop. I thought I had deleted all of the photos I took of myself in her parka yesterday, but there was one left. I was glad that she thought it was funny, because I felt somewhat funny about putting the jacket on yesterday. I say somewhat, because I picked it up off the living room floor, despite two previous requests for DD to do so!
Doubleh, you added the bonus challenge of imagining an item that I would be most worried that DD would want to borrow. #2 is that item, my Ugg snow boots. I lent them to her to wear to school one day when school was two hours late and hers were wet from playing in the snow. She couldn't stop raving about how comfy and warm they were afterward, and has since longed for them! I personally find the laces kind of annoying, but am not ready to give them up. Other than that, she loves a Marmot fleece which I gave her to wear one day skiing when the beloved down jacket felt too bulky under her parka. (The fleece was also found left in the living room yesterday!)
As April mentioned, I found this challenge particularly challenging because almost all of my tops are neutrals - black, grey, and some maroon pieces. In addition, in the winter I tend to wear sweaters almost exclusively, and DD only wears items that will fit under her parka. I think the big thing I got out of this exercise is that it would be nice to have some winter clothes in colors!
