So here's the outfit I actually pulled together to meet my challenge. I think it's still very much me without looking like I tried to randomly combine little-worn things from my closet.
Do I get bonus points if, technically, once I include the jacket, I am actually wearing 5 items I haven't worn in over a year?
Here are the 5 not worn items and why I don't wear them often:
1. Vintage 1960's sheer silk Emilio Pucci blouse: I haven't worn this since I lived in Vegas almost 5 years ago. I've owned if for almost 20 years. The colors and pattern are very me but because it's lightweight and sheer I am almost always cold in it unless the temps are over 85 degrees. So I'll probably end up wearing my jacket over it all day today since the temps are supposed to only hit 72 or so. Which leads me to #2...
2. 3.1 Phillip Lim cropped trench coat with ruffle back: I'm honestly not sure why I don't wear this jacket more often. Maybe because the ruffled back feels too frilly to me? or I feel like I get lost in the boxy/drapy-ness of it? Not sure if it's a keeper yet. What do you guys think?
3. Sisley black wool wrap skirt: I own a few black skirts, both pencil and aline at various lengths. I think this one is very flattering with the slight A Line and I even paid to have it shortened to the right length for me after I scored it at the thrift store for $10 quite awhile back. I think this one's a keeper because it's classic even if I just don't wear skirts very often.
4. Vintage black leather booties: I have other pairs that look similar so these just don't get a lot play. I'll probably end up donating them.
5. Small gold hoop earrings: These are so dainty and I have several other pairs of gold hoops so these don't get worn much. I honestly can't remember the last time I wore them prior to putting them on today. I like that they are simple and classic, though. So I'll probably keep them around.
So there you have it, ladies. How'd I do?
