Yet another dumb thing

This morning I was lolly-gagging. I always do on Friday, because I clean the house but don't like doing it. So I was just about to shower and get dressed, when I remembered the dogs had a vet appointment in 15 minutes. I'm not kidding. I hadn't showered, dressed, or even brushed my teeth. I threw on some clothes, and we made it there in time. I wouldn't say I looked great, though.

The rest of you have probably never done anything this dumb.

You are a true animal lover! I think we've all done things like that. Sometimes fashion just has to take a backseat, right?

That isn't "dumb" at all! We all forget things or get lost in what we're doing now and then. I give you credit for still making it to the appointment at all instead of cancelling!

Last year, I missed a dentist appointment by completely forgetting about it, rescheduled, and then managed to miss the rescheduled one as well. All for a dumb 15 minute consultation appointment...

yep, done that only taking kids to the doctor. One of my many BMM's (bad mother moments)

Yes, I missed my children's Dr appointments. I had to pay 2 late fees as we had two back to back appointments. Silly thing was we were all lolling around at home and could easily have been there. You can be sure that after I paid the late fees I didn't ever do it again!

Not sure what lolly gagging is? I forgot to set my alarm this morning and overslept - it's school holidays here so all the kids slept in too. Only about 15 mins late to work but not even a cup of tea did I have til I got there.
And I'll always regret not taking my youngest to the hospital a day earlier when she was sick as a baby (couldn't get a dr apt) She was hospitalized the next day, and had a helicoptor trip to the children's ward to be put in ICU.

Well, you have been good to remember the appointment ! Diana's comment made me remember how I missed an oculist appointment, rescheduled and was going to miss again. I was "lolly-gagging" (I like this new-to-me word!) at home when I received a call from my oculist. "Madam, sorry to bother you (he is such a kind guy) but today we had an appointment at 10, I have not seen you yet, I wanted to make sure everything is ok .... " It was 10.20. "I will be there in ten minutes!" I said. I had not showered yet, I had not combed my hair, I was in my lounging clothes. I jumped on my car and off I went! I was so ashamed. Some days later I brought him a basket with delicatessen to apologize.

I will definitely admit to having to drive my children places in pajamas on more than one occasion. I am happy to say that this happened more frequently when they were younger :).

If it weren't for the alert function in Apple calendar, I would never remember to be anywhere. Learned to use it the hard way.

The dumb thing wasn't making it to the vet, but wasting so much time before realizing we had to be there, stat!!! I've never gone out in public without brushing my teeth, before.
