Yellow Raisin goes with EVERYTHING in my closet!

I'm procrastinating making dinner by sharing my Halogen seamed skirt saga.

I was intrigued with the Halogen seamed skirt in Yellow Raisin, stemming from all the great outfits I saw here......When Claudia announced the sale, size 6 was not available, so I ordered the size 8 and size 4.

8 was too big, 4 was too small......Somehow when I went back to order, I convinced myself that Yellow Raisin was not practical due to a prevalence of unfortunate incidents with full cups of coffee in my life.....Camel, which would go perfectly with coffee spills, was not available, so I ordered the green olive in a 6. I like green and it would sorta (kinda, not really) mask coffee spills.

The green olive, size 6, came yesterday, and fits perfectly. BUT the same colors of my blouses that come alive with Yellow Raisin (a blue and white top, sleeveless silk top from NYS, a brown striped sweater, an olive shirt) look "meh" next to the olive skirt.....

I am branching out into bright territory!!!! I've never owned anything that is Yellow!!!

I spent today tracking down a Yellow Raisin seamed skirt in size 6,which is being sent to me from Anchorage Alaska. I love customer service at Nordies!!!!! And I love joining the Sisterhood of the Yellow Raisin!

I just sent back the olive green skirt in size 4. I decided to try a smaller size but figured out that I definitely need size 6 for this skirt. I also felt like olive green would be nice but it was fairly low key and not that different from the two skirts I already have (I have a grey and a muted purple). Enjoy your Yellow Raisin skirt!

I LOVE YOU ISIS AND I LOVE THIS STORY! I have been contemplating posting a "dressing" question about MY yellow raisin Halogen pencil skirt and what tops to use and here you are with an answer and a post!

I've only worn a black and white striped dress shirt with mine, courtesy of an idea from "Glee" counselor, 'Emma Pillsbury," when I saw her wear something similar on one episode. But, I'm still perplexed and may branch out to a denim/chambray shirt, too, which I think looks nice. Your olive, blues and browns are just the ticket for my IMAGINATION. Thanks, Isis, and, yes, I'm happy to be a part of the "Sisterhood of the Yellow Raisin." (Glad I heard it on the grapevine.) I'm so happy you found your size! Please keep me posted.

So glad you managed to track down the yellow raisin skirt in your size Claudia! And Vicki, geeze...you make that skirt look so good. I *was* thinking that the colour was a little much for me, being the one who can't quite get past the basic navy, black or grey - and that 'just right yellow' skirt looks fabulous on you!!!

When I was contemplating which color to buy I was not sure yellow is versatile enough for my outfit mixing self. Boy, was I wrong! I think it is the most versatile color ever and unlike neutral colored skirts it is also a lot of fun. I am hard pressed to find colors it does not look good with, really...Maybe pastels or muddy colors. It works with neutrals, brights and muted colors equally well.
I am officially declaring this yellow color a "virtual" neutral - like Angie's tomato red!

I just joined the sisterhood. I took the money from my futile Talbots order and just ordered this skirt instead. Yay!

I missed these great WIW's the first go around. Yellow is a color I usually avoid, but after seeing how fresh and versatile this skirt is, I snagged it on sale.

Thanks for all the information and visual incentive to add this skirt to my growing Halogen Seamed Pencil Skirt collection.

Yay Claudia! Way to turn lemons into....yellow raisins!

My Talbot order turned out much better (only one cancelled item)......I'm still waiting for my YR skirt; it'll take awhile to get here!
