I think seasonal palettes are nice generic guideline, but everybody has some distintive traits, so two deep winters will have lots in common, but won't be the exactly same.
My dominant traits are cool-pinkish pale skin and dark ash brown hair and this makes me a winter, but I have light freckles and golden/green hazel eyes that can go from muted moss one day to sparkling citrines another, so I'm in-between deep/clear winter. My worst color is beige, but most yellows and colors with a yellowish/orangish undertone aren't flattering at all. On the other hand, finding a flattering yellow is difficult, but when you do it it really worths the trouble. I have a poncho in a color that is a pale yellow like the "brick pattern" in this page http://background-kid.com/pale.....round.html and It looks better than good on me.
I think this specific color won't work so well for deep winters with medium or dark skin tones, but if this is your case you can google "kim kardashian yellow dress" to see some yellows that are flattering for her and may work for other deep winters as well (and also ones that clearly don't work).
