Yay or nay: silver shoes and gold clutch

I mix metals all the time but not usually in such big pieces.
BIL is getting married next Saturday and I know I am wearing the Vera wang dress and navy hat. But here's my dilemma. I don't have gold shoes or a silver bag. So what do we think of the silver shoes with the gold clutch? Or should I go emergency shopping for silver bag?
Sorry for not trying everything on. No time. Oh, and I have a navy hand knit lace wrap for a little warmth.

Also the only jewelry I'll prob wear is bracelets. I could do one gold and one silver to make the mixing metals more intentional?

I do also have these nude peep toes but they kind of hurt.

I like the mixed metals here and would absolutely wear both pieces myself. I love both the shoes and the clutch and they both seem to have a dull or matte - ish finish (am I right?) that is what perhaps makes them work so well together. It's worth noting that I am not a matchy-matchy person at all ... But I would say definitely wear these as is Diana. Looks like a fab outfit.

Just want to add that for me, with that hat -- which I just love -- matching hat and shoes would actually be too much, too proper.

I totally agree with Viva. I think this looks great as is, at least from what we can see. I like the idea to do some metal mixing with the jewelry to make it look more intentional. And I think you should have fun at the wedding and wearing shoes that are already known to hurt your feet isn't much fun!

Viva, great point about matching looking too proper. In England I actually wore black shoes and black/white jacket and it worked fine with the non matchy navy hat. I want something overall lighter here though.

I think that as the outfit already has two main colours ( red dress and navy hat and wrap) that I'd want to get a silver or navy bag with it . The gold seems a bit too mixy to my eye. But definitely wear the comfier shoes! A wedding with immortalized pictures is No time to be wearing pinchy shoes . That'll just have you wincing or grimacing in photos ( which are likelier to focus on the faces rather than feet).

I agree with Bella; too much going on for me. But as is evidenced by the responses on this thread, this seems to be a matter of personal taste these days rather than a firm rule.

I have a tough time mixing metals but curiously have been changing this year. Personally, I'd do as you suggested and mix some bracelets in to tie the metals. But I see Angie's thumbs up, so take it!!!

I happily mix metals but this too much for me. There are too many colours for my eye. In this instance I would be looking to the bag and shoes to pull the outfit together. They wouldn't have to be the same to do that I think tonally they need to work together.
