So my mom gave me this top, she does some artwork and this is actually a top that’s made out of fabric which incorporates one of the paintings she did, basically it’s for painting on the fabric. So I really appreciate her giving me this and I love her art usually, however I’m not sure if this color and pattern is something I can actually wear. I never wear patterns and I feel very out of my element

I think it's lovely on you! I feel like abstract patterns can often be the most appealing for the pattern-averse. The quiet color palette works for your mostly-neutral preferences, and I like how you have it styled here.

It is indeed a lovely print but I think I can see why you feel out of your element. You’ll need to sharpen it up so that it suits your style, maybe with a plain black skirt and sleek boots.

Proportion is key. What are the sleeves like? Can you layer it over a skinny black base layer?

I like it too . I don’t know your style though to determine if it’s a good fit sartorially . With a pattern like this I might dial back the jewellery somewhat so as to let the top take centre stage ?

I love it ( I like patterns most of the time). It works with your black pieces since it has some dark grey ( almost black ) color in it. It’s fab on you!

I see from your previous post you like black with pops of bold color and this print is muted and a bit muddy which is a pattern a lot of people love to wear when they don't like bold contrast. So I get why you feel out of your element. I also prefer bold contrast so totally relate. While the print is pretty and I love taupe and nudes I probably would not feel 100 percent like myself either wearing it.

As someone else said, this pattern is muted and I prefer bold colors if I wear color at all. So I don’t know if I will wear this much. My boyfriend said he really liked it, but he always forever tries to get me out of all black outfits lol

What a gorgeous print and it really does suit your coloring. It even looks like it goes with your cell phone case. Although, I am partial to muted prints so I'm a little biased. So pretty on you though!

Yay, What a lovely top and it goes so well with what you are wearing. I did not wear prints for years and dipped my toe in last winter with some embellished sweaters. Prints are back in my wardrobe now and I am enjoying them tight now even if they do not last long in my wardrobe.

I wear a lot of black and find a bit of colour or pattern breaks it up nicely like it does with that jacket you are wearing. I really like it on you.
