Yay or Nay: New Lippie for Work

I was at the grocery store this evening and took a wander through the makeup aisle... Since watching The Bachelor Women Tell All (forgive me my terrible guilty pleasure... ) I have not been able to get Cassandra's purpley lip colour (#2) out of my head! I did not have the wherewithal to look up the inspiration pic in the aisle, and ended up with more of a berry shade than violet (#1). #3 is my usual melony pink "my lips but better" colour, for reference.

What do you think? Is #1 working? And is it too much for work? I suspect I would look clownish in Cassandra's shade, striking as it is on her.

I would agree that Cassandra's color might be hard for you (or anyone, including perhaps Cassandra!) to pull off -- that is one bright color! haha

That said, I LOVE the new color you tried in pic 1, Emily. To me, it's actually better on you than your usual melony pink. Your usual color is very pretty, but this deeper berry really brings out your eyes so much more and seems to complement your skin tone (which is gorgeous). I am very, very much in favor of this berry shade on you. Incredibly lush and beautiful.

Oh! I think it looks lovely on you! It highlights the contrast between your creamy, lovely skin and your dark hair. It is a great way to highlight your natural beauty, even if the color isn't a natural (i.e., nude) color. Excellent choice!

Super color for you. I think your coloring is " cooler" and the new one skews more that way than your usual. Also you are high enough contrast that you can wear a deeper color well.
You were smart not to go for pure purple lips- that's what I notice first on the
actress,whereas your face is noticed before the lipstick registers.

The berry is beautiful and is a lot less dramatic than you might fear it is. I'm going to be in the minority and say you could totally carry off the purple. I'd look for a deep violet as opposed to a super dark purple.

I like this one, but I think you can carry off the darker one also. It's very bold, but not as bold as a red, once you wear it a few times.

Thanks all I wore the new colour to work today, it's held up surprisingly well to eating and drinking so I am pleased. I may yet experiment with something more purpley. We shall see!
