I thrifted this paisley silk dress for about a dollar. The fabric is gorgeous and I thought it had potential. It is meant as a midi-length shift with the neck tying on the side (I wore it that way in one picture so you could see how it is 'supposed' to look--#2 below).

To reduce the frump, I am thinking of hemming it to just above the knee and wearing it back-to-front for a pussybow effect. (I'll have to modify the neck slightly). I pinned it up sloppily in front to give you the general idea of what it would look like. I paired it here with midnight blue pumps, but I think booties might look more modern. Also, I'd probably wear it with a cardigan or a jacket--hopefully either belted or unbelted.

What do you think, yay or nay? If you think it will still be frumpy, even with modification and styling, then I can just donate it right back.
