Yay or nay? Boots

I have been looking high and low for low heeled, cognac casual boots that will fit my 16 1/4"+ calves. I prefer real leather, but then I came upon these on Ruche. What do you think? Do they look too fake?? Or worth trying? Close enough? or UGLY??
I have never ordered from them before so I don't know size accuracy and return process.

Hm, it's always hard to tell from photos, unfortunately. If they have a good return policy, order them and post photos! They definitely have potential.

Hi Kendra, it's always a bit hard to judge quality just by looking at website pictures, but I think you should go for it. The colour looks fantastic and they are not ugly at all, au contraire;-)

Nice to see you back! I like them, though I'm no expert on leather. From what I've seen of you I think they are a good fit style wise...they look "you".
Love the name too...sound kind of "cowgirl-esque" I'd wear them just because they were named whiskey! (Though I don't drink it!)

Because you said you prefer real leather, it makes me think that you are the kind of person who can usually tell the difference between real and fake pretty easily... and would be bothered by it. IMO, the leather looks pretty fake in the picture.

Rae, you're totally right that I prefer real leather, but it's been near impossible to find something in real leather, in a style I like, that will fit my monstrous calves

I think the general consensus is "worth a try", so I think I will and then post some pics to get a final opinion.

Angie, I am feeling much better now that I was feeling for months before surgery, so it's already a success. I just need to remind myself it's a slow and deliberate recovery, so I need to be patient. I really miss getting dressed in real outfits though... it's been 3 weeks since I was able to wear anything other than loose pants and fuzzy clogs.

Oh, Kendra! Hugs!!! At least you're feeling better :0). You'll be out sporting your fab outfits soon enough. Make sure that the hair and top part of your body feels fab for now. Rest up!

I have been trying, but it's hard to do my hair or put makeup on still. On the positive side, I am growing y hair out and it's right at that awkward in-between stage. Luckily I am stuck at home so I don't have to subject the world to my constant ponytail LOL

Worth a try -- they really are 16" in the calf, with an added elastic insert at the top.

Update: I ordered the boots from Ruche. Placed the order around noon yesterday, paying via Paypal (I LOVE when retailers provide the option for paypal). By 8pm last night I received tracking info for the package.

Thats pretty quick, I am impressed so far. I expect to receive them tues or wed this week.

Well now I have 2 options. I randomly found a pair of barely used Bagatelle Leather boots on eBay and just won then for $8.00 +shipping. Can you believe it?

The calf measurement is unclear on the auction but says 16+ (with elastic gore in the back), so I figured they were worth a try.

I just hope they don't both fit well cause I might have to keep both. LOL

Oh, I love both boots, hopefully they both fit you. I'm glad to hear your recovery is going well and you are able to indulge in some retail therapy in the mean time.
