yay or nay: boot belts

Just noticed these on Anthro's website... apparently they are like belts that you put around your boot ankle? What do you think? Silly or fun?

I've been eyeing some boots that come with a "belt" so this may be a cheaper option. I like them.

Anthro links never work for me, but I think I know what you are referring to, Diana. I think these could be fun, and could absolutely see them working with your style.

Oh, crud, I forgot that anthro links don't work outside the US. Here is a screen shot, but yes, they are essentially leather bands (some single wrapped and some double wrapped) that you put around the ankle of your boot. I wonder if it would look weird or cool to have just one ankle wrapped, or if your two ankles did not match... (I feel like this might be one of those too-fashiony things that just looks to normal people like your other shoe has lost its belt or something... )

Although it occurs to me that I don't actually think I have boots that are plain enough to pull this off.... even my Frye Veronica shorties already have an ankle band.

I still love the idea, Diana (thank you for adding that screenshot), but agree that it might work better on a more plain boot.
Earlier today I saw a photo of a girl wearing a pair of oxfords with a leather band around one of the shoes, I really liked it. Can't remember where I saw it though. Will post the picture if I find it again.

i dunno. i like the decorations that are integral to the boot. and my bling free boots are that way for avreadon.

but, i'm a crotchety old fart. so bling away! just stay away from the bandanna tied around the ankle.

I like the idea. It would be fun to change up a plain pair once in awhile and you could revert to the sleeker belt-less style when you wanted to.It'd be like having more pairs of boots!

I like them - bling for your boots! It's like having two pair of boots instead of just one, you could wear the boots without for a dressier look, with for a funky look. The only problem I see is that I would want them to match the color of the boot exactly - if they didn't I think that would bother me, like I'm putting something there that isn't supposed to be.
