So, yesterday I went shopping.. I didn't bougth, I had doubts..
1. Blue Zara Jacket, it's not expensive, but I'm not sure about the collar, too high?
2. Black and cream Zara dress, comfy, but i'm not sure about the fit
3 H&M green dress, I've been looking for a green dress for ages, and this has potential.. what do you think?
Please ignore the sandals (I went shopping with comfy sandals).

Are you going to wear the jacket with the collar up or down? It doesn't look comfortable with the collar up, but on a really cold day you wouldn't care that much.
I am not sure about the dresses, I like the colour of the green one, but feel it doesn't show your figure as nice as the striped one.

Rute the coat is lovely. Collar looks a bit awkward up but could be good for the cold weather. It looks like a good fit and I like the color. I'm undecided about the dresses. I like the striped dress, great length too, but I'm used to seeing you in more fitted dresses. The green dress has a late 1960's , early 1970's look which I really like, however I think the color is a little dull. I can see you in a more vibrant jewel toned green.

I like the blue coat. It probably looks really nice with the collar down? I do like the color green on you a lot but as above ladies suggested the fit could be better. Would like to see more of a v line on a dress. On the stripe dress I find the stripes a bit too big and this dress makes you look shorter, although it does look quite funky..

I also like the blue coat but am not loving the dresses. I know from your other dress pics that you have a gorgeous shape and I feel it is lost under the dresses.

Ladies,
The blue coat looks strange with the collar down, it's stiff, even when opened, the collar stays up (it's difficult to explain in english..).

I'm the odd one out and say that I don't like the blue coat. The fit is great and the color is gorgeous, but the collar would be constantly in the way and looks a bit too high on you. I also dislike the REALLY shiny gold buttons, buttons like this always look cheap to me. I like the black and cream dress on you! The green dress is a nice waist surrendering dress, but it looks like the color washes you out (this could be the artificial light though).

If the collar won't ly down, keep looking for a better coat.

I like the blue coat, but I love the military style in general so maybe I'm biased. If the collar bothers you, then it should go back - would you be comfortable wearing it fully buttoned up all the time? BTW, Esprit has a great-looking wool military coat right now. I think it's called "admiral's coat" and comes in camel and black. It's got a different collar that might work better if this one bothers you.

I want to like the striped dress because the A-line shape is great, but I don't love the neckline. I wish it was something other than a plain round neck. Maybe a little cropped black jacket would do wonders for this dress? And I do like the green dress a lot. Find it very mod and 60s, and could be great once you style it. Imagine it with heeled boots! And put your hair up!

I like the blue coat, even with the collar, but if you don't like it, that is what matters.

I do like the striped dress, but I don't like the green one, unfortunately. With that much waist surrendered, I think I would like to see more leg.

Agree with Heleen. You need a collar that looks good both up and down.

Both of the dresses look a bit too big. Can you get them in a smaller size?
My advice on the coat is if the collar doesn't bother you then it looks fine. How does it feel when you sit down? Do you feel like you are being swallowed up?

I think you did the right thing by not taking them home. All three have some good points, but don't quite reach the killer level they should for your fabulous style. Something better is sure to come along!

I like the idea of all of these, but in the details I am not sure. The collar on the blue coat seems too high. The cream and black dress is lovely but seems to stand up at the collar? The green dress is also lovely, especially with that necklace, but it seems to have too much fabric in the body? I love the surrender-the-waist look on you, but this particular cut looks too big somehow.

I like elements of all three pieces, but you made the right decision in not bringing them home.

I don't like the blue coat all that much. Sorry! I think the collar is difficult on a short petite, but that could be my own no-neck bias. I love the second dress, not that keen on the color and neckline of the third for you. Zara is like a siren song for me now, though!

I like that coat, Rute, and can really see the appeal, but if the neck is uncomfortable it's probably a touch too high for you and you won't enjoy wearing it.

As for the dresses, I have seen you in others that do so much more for you. Unless you have a strong need, I'd say pass until you can find a waist surrendering dress that does you justice.

While I like things about all three items, I can see why you passed. There's something about each one that keeps it from being perfect on you. Hold out for better!

I know you love fitted dresses on me but I really like those 60's kind of loose dresses and I love to play down my curves!

Rute -- I really like the coat. It fits you perfectly and is your style -- feminine but edgy. Sometimes these two elements are hard to come by together.
