yay or nay - printed longchamps bags

My red longchamps shoulder bag is super versatile and useful... just noticed that they have these fun printed versions as well... what do you guys think? Too resorty? And which print do you prefer?

Hm, on ME, this would be resort-y for sure. But what do you plan to wear it with? I think it could work, but I am having a hard time picturing it.

I think the blue/green one looks the best. It looks more spring or summer like than resort to me. The pink one looks a bit touristy for me.

I prefer the first one. Beautiful *and* whimsical --- almost a conversational print, which makes it very trendy rather than touristy, to me.

So I think what's giving me pause about both of these patterns is that they're both white-backgrounded, and, well, I don't really do white. Technically they would both go with my wardrobe though. To me, white reads resort which is why I asked whether they were too resorty. I do like the first one best, for the reason that Manidipa stated - it's more conversational and less generically tropical.

Ah well... they're a little out of my budget anyway right now... so I will hold off for now and maybe they will pop up on sale or in a dark-backgrounded print.

Both gorgeous! Depends if you're a printed-bag girl (I don't think I am, but I'd love to see someone else carrying them!).

I would love to see pics of you with your Longchamp (Le Pliage?) if you've posted them before - could you please point me in the right direction if you have?

I love them and can see them working for you as a fun accent (albeit I know not an inexpensive one) I think I prefer the 1st for the whimsy and the overall colors.

I LOVE the print on the first one, it reminds me of our trip to Vegas (see photo), just a little bit!

I do like the bags, but I do think they are a little bit 'resort-y', to be honest.

BL, I love that Chiluly ceiling!

I think these bags are really pretty, and as someone who has been thinking about a patterned bag (albeit in black and white), I recommend really studying your spring/summer outfits to see if one of these will work well with your wardrobe. Since they're pricey, I'd want to make sure they have some versatility.

Thanks everyone. I think I'd consider getting the first one if it goes on sale but not at full price. I think the problem is they're both pretty summery and so would have limited use - if they came in a different, non-white based print (like that lovely Chiluly BL posted!) I would be all over it.

No sure, they really seem too precious and sweet for your somewhat tough girl style persona. They seem really Lilly Pulitzer style Main Line garden party appropriate.

I Love the first bag. That is such an unusual print. I picture it with white skinny jeans and a red or coral bowtie blouse, brown loafers or coloured ballet flats.

However, that is dressier and more delicate than the two outfits you posted, so not sure how well it would work with your wardrobe. The palette of the second bag is probably a better fit, but I'm not fond of its pattern.

Hmm the first one might be workable with your style because it's definitely more conversational than resort or cutesy, and doesn't have quite as much white in it.

I wanted to add that the prints are both quite beautiful! Lots of help huh? Anyway, I think a close analysis for outfits before purchase is a smart idea. Ana posted something once about buying a cheaper similar bag (not fake mind you, but just a similar size/color) and if she found she used it a lot then to get the designer one. I think its a great idea to see if something will work for you before putting out a large sum.
