To all you dancers out there, what do you think of this for a Christmas salsa party?

I decided to try a light dress that doesn't restrict leg movement, a pink sports top under my dress for a pop of colour, dark tights and statement boots to complete the outfit.

The outfit looks really awesome, but I would be careful about wearing such a short skirt since it is body-con...I wore a short body-con skirt out dancing once, and it rides up as you take steps, so you have to be constantly pulling it down. You could maybe wear a skater-style skirt that has a looser structure, although with that you have to be careful that when you spin, the hem won't fly up and expose parts of you that you don't want exposed.

I'm not quite clear on the type of tights; are they thigh-highs? If so, I'm pretty sure they will fall down eventually and be an annoyance for you. Maybe replace with a regular pair of tights?

All in all, it's a sexy outfit in general, but for dancing, it might cause some problems, at least imo.

We have been taking ballroom dancing, and I have found that I need longer tops because when I raise my arms my top comes up. The skirt on your dress is already quite short, and when you raise your arms you might not be decent anymore!

Or you could wear leggings under the dress, that would stop some of the worries about flashing!

I like the dress, the pink and the boots are fun too....

You know, I don't think of salsa and boots together, but I'm also thinking you're the only female I know who salsas and you frequently wear boots... What don't I know about salsa? (Hehe) Am I thinking rhumba?

@Gigi - I always look forward to reading your posts and hearing your replies. You know fashion so well! You are right, I tried a few dance moves and this outfit might be a bit short, I will try a skater style skirt. I originally had thigh highs tights but will replace them with waist high ones for safety. Your advice here has been very VALUABLE

@Jaileen - I took your advice and tried the raised arm test. You are right, it does ride up! I'll have to go with full tights and a longer skirt for sure.

@Kiwigal - Thank you I plan to do exactly that, wear full tights for safety

@RachyLou - You mean where you live, people don't go to clubs wearing boots? ..... Where I am, boots are very common at dance clubs. Salsa clubs tend to have salsa, rumba, mambo, merengue & bachata .... the style of dance depends on the song the DJ is playing. Also, if I am wearing a higher heel, the padding in boots makes the heels a lot more comfortable then a sandal. Do you dance as well? If so, what style of dance?

I don't really dance. Have a couple of guy friends who are really into it, tho, and sometimes I'll go with them. Salsa, swing. They really have to lead because I suck at it, lol. But yeah, no, don't see a lot of boots. Only at shows - hip hop.
