WWIW: Brother's Induction to Hall of Fame

Not the Cleveland Hall of Fame! His hometown's Hall of Fame. But still pretty exciting for him and recognition for his musical talent. He plays guitar.

Mr Style Fan and I are in Florida and we found out this exciting news. We plan to go the event on the way home. I packed lightly (many regrets but that is another thread). I am sure that great jeans, leather jacket, nice top, good accessories and shoes (this topic again) will be fine. Mr Style Fan is all set. He wears black jeans to most everything. And he has his Montreal shirt that I bought him. My brother wears black jeans to everything.

I did not bring a lot with me. I have my Levis and Paige jeans with me. See pics. I also have my Brown Leather jacket. See pic. I also have my Sarah Pacini olive green T shirt and Sarah Pacini Sweater. See pic. I wouldn't wear the scarf. I would wear a funky necklace. See finds.

I am leaning towards jeans, Brown Leather jacket, Sarah Pacini top. For footwear the only option I have with me are the El Nat Chelsea Boots. I could buy new footwear.

I don't think I want to wear the Kamm Pants. See pic. Not the right thing for this event.

I am open to suggestions.

I was thinking of new jeans but really I don't need them.

You got this! I doubt you could purchase a better outfit than the one you have fortuitously packed. Jeans in photo #1, uncuffed, belt, el nat boots and jacket are spot on perfect. Is the top the one in the photo with dog? And, yes to a funky necklace---maybe more than one funky necklace. I was in florida earlier this month for baseball spring training, I shudder to imagine what I might have taken with me that I could also wear to a HOF induction. Luckily, neither of my brothers is in danger of being inducted into a HOF.... LOL

Thank you Mirjana. The Paige jeans are the ones I am leaning towards. I think they are more "dressy". The Levis have to be cuffed because they are longer.

Laurel the top with the dog is the sweater. I think I would wear the leather jacket and not the sweater. I was thinking of the top under the leather jacket in the first pic but no scarf. Necklaces instead. But I did not bring necklaces. So I will have to buy them. I was going to get one Now 2. Hmmm. I do like that idea.

It must be difficult that the US is so big! I think you'll look great in what you propose and fit in well with brother and Mr SF. I love that you immediately know the "Montreal shirt"! My husband has several shirts I bought him or we bought together- his Tahiti blue floral shirt from 2003 is still going strong.

Jenni good point about the US being so big. Actually we live in Canada so we are going from the Southern part of the US to Southwestern Ontario (Canada) where my brother lives. We live further north. So in some ways it is North America that is so big. We travel all over North America now that we are retired.
Mr SF is a pretty casual dresser. Black and more black. And he has a very small wardrobe.
Yes I think my outfit will work with my brother, his wife and Mr SF. Thank you for the vote of confidence.

Great look! Perfect for the event. The jewelry is stylish and cool and can be worn a lot, so go for it. I would. Or stop by a bead store and put one together.

I love your outfit in the first pic and think something like that would be perfect. I can't see the feet but think booties would be fine (or new shoes - I love any excuse to get new shoes :))

Congratulations to your brother! That's a great honour.

Travelling light can be fun, no? I tend to agree with Laurel - you've got this! The chelsea boots are pure rock'n roll and the belt pulls it all together. I'd be on the look out for a special new accessory to finish it off while keeping it real - hand-made jewellery, or maybe a silk scarf.

Well I forgot to post the bag. Oops. That must show how much I am a bag person. I have a nice animal leather clutch that will work great. It is dark brown.

Gee Rachy thanks! My brother was in a band in the 80s (It takes a long time to make it into the H of F apparently) that had a hit record. It was a New Wave Band. All the band members have stayed in the music scene but not in the band or together.
I think you are right Smittie. The footwear needs to be upgraded.

I like the Bella Vitas--do you already own them, or are you considering them? And we're talking the top in 4 with the outfit? You look so cool in all these photos, I know you will be chic in the combo you choose. I like the idea of jewelry instead of a scarf, as it seems a bit dressier.

I know Rachy. 80s music. The band will be performing at the event as well. I am sure there will be dancing! What fun!
Firecracker I don't own the Bella Vitas. I only have the El Nats with me. And some Comfort Sandals. I like the Bella Vitas after seeing Angies post but for me I think the cognac coloured is better. Gold is not for me. I wonder if it will be warm enough. It will be about 6 C or 44 F. Is that warm enough to wear open toed booties?
I agree that jewellery is nicer for the event. Also better for dancing. I am excited about the event. It will be a lot of fun.

I think the outfit you have in mind will be perfect. You look lovely in the first picture, and a necklace instead of the scarf would dress up the outfit even more. I'd look for some new footwear if possible, though.

Back to talk about footwear. Ordinarily I would agree with others that a dressier shoe would be appropriate for the occasion, but not this time.

I have spent many, many hours in my life standing on front of bands. It probably adds up to months if not years. I don't need to tell you this, you've seen the concert shirts.

If this event is going to be anything like my experience of live music, footwear comfort should be your top priority, bar none. I've lost count of the number of people I've seen stumbling painfully around festival sites because they chose the wrong pair of shoes. It's not just women either, men do this as well.

My feet are not particularly fussy or sensitive but I would never, ever consider wearing an untested shoe to a gig. Please save yourself the discomfort on your brother's special day. Your feet will thank you.

Very cool for your brother to be honoured this way! Your entire Florida collection looks fantastic! You have the best wardrobe . No suggestions for what to wear from me, but the outfit in the first pic is dynamite, as are all the others

I think I'm with approprio on this one. If it will be a long day (or night) on your feet for the performance, go with shoes you know are all-day comfortable. You'll come away with better memories than if you have to deal with foot pain. Have fun, and congrats to your brother!
